Friday Fragments: Episode #165

Welcome to Friday Fragments! It's time to get our frags on! Let go of the tidbits clogging your brain, heart, or sinuses.

***Everyone I work with has been sick lately. I thought I could avoid catching the wicked cold, but it started sneaking up on me on Wednesday. Fortunately, I was ready for it and hit the netipot right off the bat, day and night for two days, and guess what? I didn't get a full-blown cold. The netipot is my friend.

***I'm seriously thinking (again) about switching to the Disqus commenting system. If my blog suddenly looks like a wasteland in the comment department, it'll be because I lost all of my old comments in the transition. Keeping fingers crossed...[Update: Obviously, I made the switch, and HOLY COW--Disqus shows

11,597 comments on my blog since its inception. Thanks, Everybody! :)]

***It was Spirit Week at school this week. Check out my post yesterday if you want to see what Crazy looks like.

***We have a new Fragmenter today! Please welcome Wayne, of Touristic! (Thanks for the heads-up, Heather :)

***Are you one Tough Mudder?  A co-worker is trying to get people to join her in the Twin Cities Tough Mudder event. I thought I might be interested, so I watched this video, which doesn't take place in Minnesota but is an example of what Tough Mudders do:

I've decided I already have plans that weekend.

Your turn!

  1. I tried to do a 'home made' nedi pot once when I was sick.....but my nose was completely swollen shut (allergies/sinus infection) so I think I did nothing but get my face wet. It sucked........I need a real nedi so I can give it a real try (before my nose swells shut)

  3. I have to be honest. I hate the Disquis system. I'm sure there are pros out there, but I've had a lot of issues with being able to comment, so I hope the change goes well!

  4. We've got a nasty cold going around here, too. I blame it on the oldest daughter and the school... =) Oh, the joys of having little ones in school...

  7. Oooo...must check out this netipot. I'm just getting over a nasty cold, but it was a weird one. Just congestion and a wicked cough. No runny nose or sneezing. TMI? :D

  11. The netipot is a prized possession 'round here.

I had a least 20-25 emails yesterday tellin' me they could not comment on my blog while others had no problem...what's up??? Anyone??? I covet my comments. Just sayin'....

Changed your mind on the muddy activities, huh? Back in the day my kiddos would play 'mud~ball'. I'd hose 'em down before the could come in the house. Kinda of a clean freak, ya know?

God bless and enjoy those 'plans' this weekend sweetie!!!

  12. Tis the season for sickness. We had something in this house about two days after my two kids were in school. It's AJ's first year in Kindegarten so he isn't used to all the other kids germs and was out of school a TON last week. Hopefully you are better! Happy Friday!

  13. Oh how I looooove mynetipot!!! Need to break it out this weekend- I can feel some sinus pressure sneaking in today.

I have friend who have done various mudder events. My very atheltic friends LOVE it. My not as atheltic friends enjoyed it but weren't eager to do it again. A year ago, I would have been fully on board. Now- not so much. Maybe someday. Maybe.

  16. September- the month of colds, 24 hour bugs and the school crud. Good bye September-hello October!

I switched to Disqus a little while back and sometimes, I wish I didn't. Good luck with the comment switchover. :)

  17. That's great that you didn't get the full effects of the cold!
Good luck with the Disqus switch, hope you don't lose all of your comments.

  18. I think I have finally gotten disqus to work for me on all of the blogs I have been visiting. If you change to it, I expect I should be fine with it :)

I use Zicam to keep myself free from the vicious cold season. Usually I can keep it away - but not being around kids is a big advantage that I have.
