Maren, our Norwegian exchange student, tells us that they do celebrate Halloween in Norway, but not to the extent that we do (Shocking, I know!). She has carved a pumpkin once before, so she wasn't totally out of her element tonight, when she and Kendall decided to get in the spirit of things.
Maren says that Halloween costumes in Norway are more traditionally the scary kind,
kind of like Kendall's face in this photo.
Not to be confused with this one...
They were happy with the end results,
especially these....

Trust me when I say they're crazy-good.
We did the very same thing tonight. Mmmm. Pumpkin seeds!
ReplyDeleteGreat pumpkins! :)
That looks like so much fun! I miss having kids in the house for Halloween!
ReplyDeleteI love Kendall's facial contortions :-) That's true talent that is!
ReplyDeleteI liked the funny faces Kendall and Maren made more than their pumpkin carving. Cute post!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a spectacular ghoulish Halloween!
ReplyDeleteYum! They sound good....what about regular olive oil would that work? Pumpkins turned out awesome! Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the scary Halloween to the happy kind, but that's just my dark side talking.
ReplyDeletenice pics and good carving
ReplyDeleteAre you ever tempted to say "Don't cross your eyes they might get stuck that way." Old wife's tale I guess.
Great faces on both the wonderfully carved pumpkins and the girls!
ReplyDeleteThat Kendall cracks me up!
God bless and have a fun evenin' sweetie!
How cute...both of them AND the neat jack o lanterns! Happy Halloween!
ReplyDeleteLove these photos! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures!
ReplyDeleteI have never carved a pumpkin. I think I will plan on trying it next year.
The real live faces are way cuter than the carved ones.
ReplyDeleteCrazy girl faces are adorably cute! How cool for Maren to celebrate a holiday in the USA. Carving pumpkins are so much fun. I bet she had a blast!
