Pumpkin Prep

Maren, our Norwegian exchange student, tells us that they do celebrate Halloween in Norway, but not to the extent that we do (Shocking, I know!). She has carved a pumpkin once before, so she wasn't totally out of her element tonight, when she and Kendall decided to get in the spirit of things.

Maren says that Halloween costumes in Norway are more traditionally the scary kind,
kind of like Kendall's face in this photo.

Not to be confused with this one...

They were happy with the end results,

 especially these....

Trust me when I say they're crazy-good.

  7. I prefer the scary Halloween to the happy kind, but that's just my dark side talking.

Are you ever tempted to say "Don't cross your eyes they might get stuck that way." Old wife's tale I guess.

I have never carved a pumpkin. I think I will plan on trying it next year.
