Very Important Things I've Learned in the EBD Classroom

[EBD=Emotional Behavioral Disability]

Never leave your door unlocked.

You can never have enough Kleenex.

You can lead a kid with EBD to Kleenex, but you cannot make him blow.

If you really want a kid with EBD to use a Kleenex, tell him he is not allowed to do so.

Just when you think you can't take any more, someone will stay home "sick."

"Sick" can mean sick, tired, lazy, bored, or just that it's a nice day out.

"I can't" and "I don't know how" mean, "I want YOU to do it!"

"Bitch!" simply means, "I hate that I can't manipulate you!"

"Can I go to the Health Room?" means "I need some T.L.C." or "I'm bored and need a walk."

"This is stupid!" means "This is hard."

There is nothing so sweet as hearing the words, "Thank you."

Poptarts can be worth their weight in gold.

Always keep the video camera running.

What have you learned from your job?
