Friday Fragments

Welcome to Friday Fragments; bits and pieces of my week that were too good to throw away, but too short to stand alone. For more on Friday Fragments, click here.

My Favorite Friday Fragment this week was from Krysta, quite a woman, in my opinion.

"It felt so much like spring today that I killed a chicken. Well, I THOUGHT I had killed the chicken. Evidently it was just unconscious..." read more here.

Krysta, take this button and wear it proudly :)

Entering some great giveaways over at Two of a Kind, Working on a Full House this month. Check it out! Today's giveaway is for an adorable apron or diva-type gloves from Jillie Willie. Who says you have to look sloppy in the kitchen?! Not Jill; that's for sure!

Another good place for a giveaway is Rick's Organized Doodles. Rick is a very talented doodler and is having a contest to win a free caricature or original, signed drawing. January 4th is the deadline, so hurry to enter.

In case you missed it, I'm proud to say that I made some incredibly delicious spaghetti sauce over at Mrs.4444 Cooks. If you prefer heart-clogging goodness, I also made Cherry Torte for dessert. Soon to come...Brownies!!

While reading The Christmas Sweater (a gift from Kendall) I had a childhood memory. We were poor, and new boots were a luxury. Since I was number seven of nine, my boots were always hand-me-downs and not very warm or water-resistant. So, Mom compensated by having us wear bread bags on our feet before we put our boots on. For the record, the bread bags did usually keep my feet from getting wet, but I can still remember the cold shock (and nagging fear) of the liquid cold reaching the bags, feeling the abrupt temperature change, and keeping my fingers crossed that I would be safe :) Were you a breadbagger?

Like nostalgia when it comes to commercials? Remember the Norelco snowman? I enjoyed the walk down Memory Lane, over at A Grown-up. Really?

Also, from The White House, came this fragment that is actually quite large. She pointed to Our Daily Blessing....Life. The story of a family fighting a fight against cancer that Amy (the mom) is dealing with, as well as their journey with their son, Phillip, who has special needs. They could really use your prayers....

Green Bay has a new snowfall record for December:

45.6-inches, smashing the 1887 record of 36.4 inches

And I love it!

I also love to read your Friday Fragments, so if you have a FF post, by all means, put it here:
