Sundays in My City, S'no Big Deal

We've had plenty of snow lately, and as I've stated in the past, it doesn't bother me in the least; I think it's beautiful. That said, I'm not the one who shovels or blows the snow. My sister Judy (who's lived in warm states for many years) recently chuckled that I talked about getting "18 inches of snow" and "driving to and from work" in the same paragraph and how funny that was--the thought of even leaving the house after that kind of snowfall. For the record, I didn't go to work until the day after the snowfall. :)   It was the same day that my brother-in-law went outside to tackle his own snow removal and found his tractor like this...

I took the next shot the day before the biggest snowfall, just before pulling in the driveway.
Kendall had ridden the bus home and arrived home before me.

The sunrise on the way to work one day was very eye-catching...

But this one takes my breath away; I just love it.
It's one of my sister Michelle's first shots with her brand new SLR camera.
(I'm so envious.)

So, yes, it's March 26th, and we still have a lot of snow, but half of it's melted already,
and I know I'll still see kids wearing shorts at school on Monday.
Besides, if I want to see real signs of spring, I can just head over to Unknown Mami's,
where plenty of people are sharing pics from their own cities.
Care to join me?

  2. Well, here in the San Francisco area, all the beautiful blossoms of the past six weeks have drowned and our reservoirs are filled to overflowing. Trees are falling on houses and cars and there have been numerous rock slides. The rain just hasn't stopped for more than a day in the past couple of weeks.

  4. It is starting to get wintery here but it will never be as cold or beautiful as where you live. The footsteps trough the snow are fantastic. Happy Sunday!

  8. Wow. That's some snow. By the way, our kids enjoyed the pictures of your kids playing in the snow. We play in clouds of dust right now because it's very dry and warm now. Hope your days become warmer very soon.

  13. So much beauty to be seen in the world. Thanks for sharing it with those of us who can no longer handle the snow. Love the footprints photo! That should be enlarged and framed.

  14. Dad told me that you all might get a thaw this week. What a winter you have had! I still think snow makes for some of the loveliest pictures, though. I think I see a heart shape in the branches of Michelle's photo.

  15. Those are beautiful pictures! We've hit a cold snap down here...it's only been in the 50's for the past few days, but kids are still coming to school in shorts & flipflops. Crazy. I'm going to school in sweaters!
