Friday Fragments: Episode #248

Half-Past Kissin' Time

Welcome to Friday Fragments, where random rules and size doesn't matter.
[Haha---I crack myself up.]
Friday Fragments are the bits and pieces of miscellany that aren't big enough to be posts of their own but are worthy of mention. Collect your bits and pieces (Keep a list if you like!) and share them in a Friday Fragments post; as any fragmenter will tell you, it's very satisfying.

Mothers Day is coming up, obviously.  I'm getting treated (by Kendall!) to a lovely meal at The Melting Pot, and I can hardly wait, as I've only been there once but loved it.

I'm in the mood to celebrate Fragmenters tonight.  Everyone who has a Friday Fragments post up by Friday at 9pm will be entered in a drawing. One winner will receive a $15 iTunes giftcard. The other will receive a jar of our homemade maple syrup. (If you have a preference, let me know.) Thanks for making Friday Fragments an entertaining, interesting, fun part of my week.

I asked Mom recently if she was a good cook when she got married. She laughed and told me that the first meal she made for my dad "was very extravagant"!  What was it? "Sliced cukes, cut-up fresh tomatoes, and corn-on-the cob."  She said her second meal was a peanut butter and banana sandwich.

Mr.4444 has bought those chocolate-covered strawberries you hear about on the radio at least four times over the past few years. I heard an ad for them today that described the strawberries as huge. For what it's worth, the ones I received a couple of years ago were huge and tasted amazing. The ones I received this year were just average-sized strawberries and didn't taste as good as the ones I'd received in the past. I've decided that I prefer my sister Judi's "strawberries."

My heart goes out to the three women (and child) rescued from their hell in Ohio this week. I pray that they each recover quickly, as well as possible.  Someone I heard interviewed described the escape as a miracle, adding "God is great!"  While I do think God is great, I don't think He had anything to do with it.  If I believed that, I'd have to be ticked at Him for letting it go on as long as He did.

You may or may not have seen the video of high school student, Jeff Bliss telling his teacher off. I shared the video here, but then it got removed for "violating the youtube terms of service." (You can find it elsewhere, but I don't like promoting copied videos, so I'll let you Google it.) I love that kid. Kendall said he's stoned in the video, but I didn't notice, and anyway, what he said is still worth saying.

Okay, that's enough randomness from me. How about you?
