The Countdown Has Begun

In my line of work, I get to work with some tough cookies; by this time of year, it can be difficult to hold on til the end. Recently, I had to pull a student out of a class in order to give her some
one-on-one attention. (It was either that or chase her around the building and fight to get her to talk to me about what's bothering her.)  When I found a bunch of old, colored bingo tokens (I think), I suggested that we make a mosaic, since my student likes art. Using this photo as inspiration,

we got to work with the chips, glue guns, pipe cleaners, and posterboard; and two weeks later, here is our end result:

My student used the search term "unique" to find a quote suitable for the poster. She immediatly latched on to the one in the photo. In case you can't see it, it reads...

You have no idea (because confidentiality won't allow me to tell you) how perfect that quote is for this child. Although I wished I could have kept it, I knew the poster belonged to her; it is now in her bedroom at home. Twenty-three school-days left...
