Friday Fragments: Episode #289

As you may have noticed, I didn't blog at all this week; please forgive the number of tidbits in tonight's post. Got fragments of your own? You've come to the right place!

***

I'm not a fan of the new Cranberry Crisps Girl Scout Cookies; are you? I really like the Lemonades, though; and, of course, the classics. It's a good thing there aren't many in the box these days; ours will be gone in no time.

***

I got sick a week ago (bad cold) and stayed that way for five days, but I'm back in the yoga saddle again and feeling great. I was shocked at the difference between my sick skin and my back-to-yoga skin. Yoga does a body good, you know.

***

Poor Mr.4444 is sick now. (Sorry, Honey!)

Kyle leaves soon for Argentina for his study abroad and second-to-last college semester. Even though he isn't in classes in Milwaukee at the moment, he is busy working at Whole Foods and working on a startup business that is really taking on some momentum. I'm so proud of him! Fortunately, his girlfriend, Alayna, will be very busy herself (as a senior nursing student), but I'm sure they'll miss each other. Thank goodness for Skype :)

***

Kendall is coming home for the weekend, too; we're going to Anything Goes at the high school, and she's going to do a lot of sleeping, I'm guessing, since she's sick. College midterms will knock a kid out, I tell you!

***

I made Black Bean and Quinoa Soup recently and put it on Mrs. 4444 Cooks. Today, I had another bowl of it (from the freezer) for lunch, this time adding the suggested avocado sprinkled on top. All I can say is "Wow."

I'm kind of particular about making sure food servers wear uncontaminated gloves when handling my food. (Yeah, I'm funny like that.) Tonight, at a certain sub sandwich place, I watched the girl cutting bread run back to the freezer, pull the disgusting door handle with her gloved hand, get what she needed, and go right back to making sandwiches without changing her gloves. Disgusting!! Now, I wasn't buying a sandwich, thank God, or I would have had to get my money back or ask her to make a new one with new gloves. I did discretely say something to the manager who waited on me, though, and she apologized, but she didn't go right over and say something. Hopefully she did after I walked away. I won't be going back there for a while, and when/if I do, I'll be watching for the gloves-thing.

Thank you for respecting the simple link-up requirements for Friday Fragments! As always, I appreciate it and you :)
