On with the fragging!
In the category of My Worst Nightmare: Last Saturday, when the ER vet squatted down to examine Steve, she FARTED! Can you imagine if your doctor did that? I don't know how Steve kept a straight face! She politely said, "Excuse me." and I admired her ability to keep her composure, as I was LMAO (inside).
Steve had bordetella and coughed (and wretched) for days but is fine now, thank goodness; we were afraid we were looking at a pricey surgical procedure! Definitely need to get the carpets cleaned, though. If you're dying to know what Bordetella looks like in dogs, you can watch this 30-second video I took of Steve Saturday morning. He was much worse the next day, but tonight he only "huffed" a couple of times and is completely back to normal. He's saying thanks in this video:
If you think "Clothing is a barrier between ourselves and the world and affects the way we perceive ourselves and our environment.” you might be interested in Naked Yoga. Me? Not so much.
You may recall my YouTube video about how to get the Otterbox Defender Series case off of a Samsung Galaxy S4 phone. It's had almost 41,000 views and has 122 comments, 98% of which are positive. I feel great about having helped so many people out. Earlier this week, a troll (people who leave comments designed to get a rise out of people online) left a comment, and I'm really proud of my reply, which was carefully crafted. I think you'll appreciate it. For what it's worth, I never said in the video that any of the steps are "easy," though I did say one of the steps is "pretty simple." Apparently, not simple enough for everyone.
As I mentioned last week, my bad cholesterol had jumped significantly since last year, so I got serious about taking control of my health. (I want to be a grandma and a great grandma some day!) So, when my cousin Shannon recommended that I read Eat to Live, I downloaded it from Audible and having been listening to it on my commute. I am learning so, so much about food!!! Shannon said it changed her life, and I concur; I'm not even finished with it yet and feel it's given me very, very good insights that will change the way I look at food forever.
I'd heard that celery can be re-grown, but I didn't believe it until I tried it myself; here's my little experiment.
How fun is that?!
