I've been giving a presentation on autism to a number of sixth grade classes recently. I always begin by asking kids ahead of time to reflect on two questions:
What do you know about autism?
What would you like to know about autism?
The results are always eye-opening (and sometimes humorous). It's my assertion that kids who understand autism will go out into the world with hearts more open towards others. This child's reflection won my heart:
