It's all fun and games, until....

Kyle is almost 16 (unbelievable). He is now about 6-feet tall, has size 14 feet, and weighs about 130 pounds (soaking wet.) Swimming season is past now, but he still has some pretty nice shoulder/chest muscles from those daily workouts, and he enjoys flexing them for us and seeing what he can do with them. Of course, this includes trying to whip his dad in wrestling matches, one of which I videotaped the other night (Mark and Kyle, with Kendall on the top, doing her best to contribute to the butt-whooping.)

It started out like all the wrestling matches in your house and probably sounded the same:

The Laughter
The "Bring it on!" challenge
The testosterone-induced roaring
The snorting exertions
The screaming (usually from the girls in the house)
The dog barking his head off
From Mom, "You guys!! You're going to break the coffee table!" or "Wait! Let me move the plant first!"
The "Ow!"ing
The tickling-induced laughter when desperate measures are called for, and of course, the inevitable, "OW-OW-OW-WAIT! STOP! STOP!" following by crying (if it's the girl), or "Hey, wait. You're bleeding." (This time, it was Mr. 4444 with a weeping rug burn.)

I had planned to post the video here, but I just can't find it right now. I'm sure there will be a future blood-letting that I can tape again. It's track season now, and Kyle is a hurdler; I see visions of couch-leaping in my future. We all look forward to it.

  2. Sounds like it would be fun to watch. It also reminds me of having sock fights when we were younger :o)

  3. I just signed up my oldest for his very first sport, soccer. I can't want to watch him grow up and do all the other stuff! :) Can you believe you have a 16 year old??

Btw, I talked to my father and he didn't remember where he got that saying. Sorry :(
I bet it was from a song though, like what you found.
