Can you help me, Doctor?

I had a strange dream when we were camping. I thought I'd offer it up here for interpretation:

First, some background for non-contact lens wearers. When you wear contacts to bed (and you're not supposed to), your eyes typically get a little gunky by morning. It's no big deal; you take them out and give them a good rinse (and your eyes, too, of course) and put them back in for the new day. On to my dream...

I had gone to sleep with my contacts in. I woke up and saw the inside of the tent through a hazy, gunky film. Looking in the mirror (No, we do not really have a mirror in our tent, Silly! I said it was a DREAM!), I saw a bunch of black eye boogers all around my left eyeball. I took a wet-wipe and wiped them all away, but on the last pass, I was horrified to see that I had not only wiped off the black eye boogers, but also my black PUPIL! Holy crap! There was my beautiful blue eye with NO pupil in it! I rushed to close one eye and then the other, to see if I had vision without the pupil, and that's all I remember; I don't remember if I could still see. I just woke up.

Okay, analyze away. I'm a teacher who started back at work today; not sure if that has any bearing, but I'd love to hear your takes.
