"Beauty Must Suffer"

Kendall has fantastic hair; it's gloriously thick, shiny, and healthy. When someone gave us the idea to do "pin-curls" for a new look, we thought it would be fun. I'd never done it before, but I figured it couldn't be that hard, so we picked up a bunch of "pins" and did her up on Wednesday night, figuring she'd have a beautiful look for Thanksgiving dinner with family on Thursday.

It went quicker than I thought, taking about 45 minutes, We were excited to see the results in the morning. Kendall went to bed like so many grandmas do; head full of hardware, knowing (as my mom always says) that "Beauty must suffer."

And suffer we did, in the morning, when we took the pin curls out, and saw that indeed, her grandmas would be proud...Beautiful, in a 1940's kind of way....I was the first to laugh, but Kendall was right behind me; we laughed and laughed, and cried, loud enough to wake Mr.4444, who came to see what the commotion was all about. His reaction was, well, predictable.

Great sport that she is, Kendall allowed me to take these pics, knowing they would make it to the blog. Then, she sat down to wait for her brother to wake up, so that he could share in the comedy of it all. Tells you a lot about her, doesn't it? (Who says 13 is an awful age?!)
