Do You Know Where Your Rectum Is?

I'm team-teaching five subjects in 6th grade this year. As a result, I've been exposed to all new curriculum, which in sixth grade includes includes ancient world history (Egypt, Rome, Greece) in social studies, and weather, nutrition, the human body in science.  It's interesting, and I'm learning a lot.   I have to tell you, Mrs. K really impresses me with her ability to say words like "anus" without laughing her ass off. LOL--LHAO--Did you catch that?! Now you see why I'm sometimes as mature as the kids! Seriously, the other day, I had to summon up some very serious thoughts to stop a fit of giggles.

Mrs. K has some terrific lessons to teach kids about their bodies, including an Einstein Kit that includes a poster pretest.  Students in lab groups work together to cut out pictures of internal organs, place them in their "proper" places on a poster, and label them.  The results of their pretests are on display in the hallway during parent-teacher conferences. They make quite a group of conversation pieces...

Thank heaven surgeons aren't typical 6th graders....

Ever had your "gullbladder" removed?  Did they go down your throat to get to it?

Poor Jack has his "rectum" stuck in his...

"Asophogas"?!

Today, Mrs. K promised that we will soon be learning all about constipation and diarrhea

What in the world am I going to do to keep from busting a gut?!
