Tuesday Tidbits

I've got a few things on my mind today, and I don't feel like saving them up for Friday Fragments...

***Mr.4444 doesn't usually have to get up as early in the morning as I do. My first alarm hits at 5:15am, and I usually hit the snooze a couple of times (sorry about that, Sweetie). This morning, it was easier to wake up, because my loving husband tenderly and sweetly rubbed my back (expecting nothing in return) to help me wake up. It set the tone for a beautiful morning. I really, really love that man...

***I worked a beer stand at Lambeau for Monday Night Football (WooHoo!! GO PACK!!). We raised about $1200.00 for our organization (Tinytown H.S. Music Boosters.) That's pretty amazing, but what's even more amazing is that our cut is ten percent of the overall earnings. That's right--We took in about $12,000.00 tonight. That's mind-blowing to me, especially when you consider that we were working just one of many, many stands throughout the stadium, and it all took place within about a three-hour span of time. So, yes, you will pay $3.75 for a bag of peanuts, $4 for a bottle of water, and $5.50 for a beer (a "cheap" one), but at least you can say you're helping charitable organizations and not just lining the pockets of the Big Guys.

***Whether or not you care a bit about football, you can't argue that the economic impact of a stadium like Lambeau is huge. I'm grateful that we have the opportunity to raise this kind of money at each home Packers game.

***It's 19 degrees tonight in Green Bay. To work the beer stand (which has portable heaters on the floor but is open to the outside), I wore five shirts, two layers of pants, one baseball cap (standard issue) and thin gloves with hand-warmers in the palms. As it is, at home for an hour now, I am just now regaining complete feeling in my fingertips!

***There is a Winter Storm Warning (our first real snow expected) in place for tomorrow night. Depending on which report you watch, predictions range from 3 to 14 inches of snow tomorrow night and Wednesday morning. Are you kidding me?! How in the world can the range be that great? That's ridiculous.

***Just realized that if the storm warning comes through, I might be able to get another nice backrub! Going to keep my fingers crossed (once they're completely thawed, of course.)
