Do They Sell Ice Packs in Bulk?

This is going to be short, because I am in so much pain. Between my right shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand, I feel like I will be crippled for life. Here's a glimpse why...

I got a wild hair today and decided to paint Kendall's bedroom, instead of waiting til summer, as planned. I taped and painted for eight straight hours.

It was gorgeous before; apparently too immature for Kendall, who will be turning 15 in about a week. I'll show you before and after shots soon, but for now, all you get is this sneak peek.

And now, I am seriously hurting so much I can barely type. Off to the freezer...

  1. Yikes. Looks great though. I always do the painting around here.

Kendall has a nice big room!

  2. heat, not ice.

overused muscles will return to normal much faster when heat is applied...like in a long hot bath....ice will make them freeze (literally). Unless you have a sprain where swelling is expected then most always use heat.

hope you enjoyed the fruits of your efforts

  3. IDK, MM. I actually think I did some damage on my muscles. "Overused" is putting it too mildly. I suppose going to bed might help....Gnight!

  4. Painting can be very hard on muscles we don't use so often. Why would you go for 8 straight hours! No wonder you are in pain. Hope you recover soon.

  5. I hate those not-so-gentle reminders that we're not as young as we used to be!
I got one this weekend, after walking 8.6 miles...ouch.

  7. That's gorgeous! And I want that window :)

I probably want that room, too.

Looks like you're doing a great job; hope Kendall's appreciative enough to make all your agony seem worth it... SOON!

  10. Take care and a jacuzzi! Always works for this old farm chick. Seems like it's an everyday occurrence 'round here that I hurt something! The room is great...I can't wait to see the finished product. Meanwhile, ya' want to borrow my medicine bag! Ya can ice it or microwave it. It was given to be by a student's grandmother and I love it!

Have a blessed day and feel better, sweetie!!!

  17. Yikes. That's a LOT of painting. I can't wait to see the before and after - and I *love* her window. Such a pretty design there. Love it :)

  18. I painted so much in a short period of time that I was finally able to stop taping the ceiling and baseboards. That saved some of the pains, but certainly not all of them.

I hope you can move in the morning - I'm feeling for ya. I bet the room is going to look great :)

It's nice you enjoy doing that! Do you do work in the NorthEast?

  20. This is what happens at our age when we over do it. Been there, hurt that. But all in love and for a good cause.
