Rants and Raves, Letters Edition
Rants and Raves Wednesday is brought to you by Little Ms. Blogger, at A Little Blog About Nothing. (Click on the button to learn more!)
Dear Sing-a-Long Sound of Music,
Where have you been all my life, and why are you hiding out in faraway places like Seattle and New York City? Please, please, please come to Green Bay (or even Chicago!) soon. I can't tell you how much I would love to be in that audience (I even have a nun costume ready!)
Signed, The Girl Who Knows the Words of Every Single One of Your Songs
Dear Narrow-Minded, Crabby Volunteer Woman Who Quit Today,
I'm really glad you stepped down from your role; you're a hateful woman. The time you spent in that position is better spent addressing your mental health issues. Good luck with that.
Signed,
Glad You're Gone
Dear Dad, Uncle Dick, and Aunt Dorothy,
As you know by now, Aunt Shirley left for heaven on Monday night. I'm sure you were there to meet her at the gate. Her family is glad that her suffering is over, though their hearts are broken. Herbie and Aunt Rae miss her already, of course, and we'll be doing our best to comfort them. Please tell Aunt Shirley we'll miss her admonishing us for skipping church.
Love, Barb
Dear Dairy Queen in TinyTown,
Your deep-fried cheese curds are the bomb!! Thank you for hitting the spot after school today. You may have just replaced the Blizzard on my list of guilty pleasures.
Signed, Butter Buns
Dear Pamela A,
You are a hoot, but I still throw up a little in my mouth when I see you (can't wash that trashy video out of my mind completely.) Please put some clothes on.
Your Dancing-With-the-Stars UnFan
Dear Google Docs,
I love you very much. Thanks for all you do for me; you're a peach.
Love, Barb
Dear Whoever knows How to remove Disqus from a Blog,
Will you please, please help me figure out how to get rid of it? I had saved my template, but that computer crashed, so I no longer have the old template.
Signed, Tearing My Hair Out
Sorry for the mostly-negative ranting; just needed to get it off my chest....

ReplyDeleteDeep fried cheese curds???? I bet you've tried deep fried butter..
ReplyDeleteNo traditional R&R today? Too bad no music to go along with sing along R&R version.
Why is it that people with the worst mental health issues don't realize they have any issues? Oh yeah, because they're flipping NUTS!!
ReplyDeleteSorry for the loss of Aunt Shirley!
Cheese curds? Interesting.....
So sorry about your loss, Barb. Sweet tribute.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if Narrow-Minded, Crabby Volunteer Woman is my nickname sometimes. :-)
Sorry to hear about your Aunt Shirley.
ReplyDeleteI took my Dad and daughter to a Sound of Music Sing-a-long just recently. Lots of fun, lots of people in costume - but not us, though my dad did threaten to dress up as a nun when I told him we'd bought the tickets. Here's hoping you get a chance to go too, sometime soon!
I'm sorry about Aunt Shirley.
ReplyDeleteI've never tried those cheese curds, but this is the second time I've heard of them. I'll have to put that on my to-do list.
A blogger friend I know uses Disqus for comments. She seems fairly savvy with her blog content. I would have no idea if she can help you out, but here's her blog link if you're interested.
Her name is Lori.

Sing along SOM has been to Chicago SEVERAL times (I always miss it, though!). I'll let you know if I see it coming again.
ReplyDeleteFor another person re: Disqus help, get with PJ over at www.realmendriveminivans.com. He helped Weaselmomma with hers, and uses it himself. He's one of the smartest web people I know.
Great stuff Barb! Did you try the deep fried Mac n cheez bites at A&W? I didnt but wow, yuk:)
ReplyDeleteFeel better, Barb! Sounds like you've had a terrible week :(
ReplyDeleteHm, fried cheese curds? Really? That might be fun to try....
ReplyDeleteTough week sweetie??? Sorry about your Aunt Shirley. A sing-a-long Sound of Music....I always sing along Heeheehe! Bet ya saw that one comin! I enjoyed all your rantin' today, ya always put a good spin on 'em.
ReplyDeleteGod bless ya'll!!!
Even your rants are soft and nice.
ReplyDeleteBlogger is pissing me off. Did you get my last comment? Cause if you did I'm so not writing it again. But if you didn't, I'd be happy to oblige.
ReplyDeleteDamn, I don't think you got it, so let's try this again. I'm copying this time so if it doesn't work I dont have to start over....again.
ReplyDeleteI love the Sound of Music! I've known all this songs since I was like 4.
deep-fried cheese curds? Yum. But the word curd sorta disturbs me.
Pamela was yucky. She's a little too "horny" for me. Who's your fave dancer so far?
What's Google Docs?
I <3 Sound of Music!! I've started watching it with my boys - they love all the songs too "I am 16 going on 17 I know that I'm naive...."
ReplyDeleteOn a more serious note... I am sorry for your familys loss.
Still waiting for your first published non-fiction book.
ReplyDeleteA good rant feels good. And when we were in London, the Sing-Along Sound of Music was huge!
ReplyDeleteWhat is this Sing-Along Sound of Music? Never heard of it. I think I need to get out more.
ReplyDeletedeep fried cheese curds? Must see a picture for proof.
I hope the stress of this week becomes blessing and bliss for next week!
I am behind in reading, so here I go with my comments!
ReplyDeleteSorry for your loss.
I can't stand Pamela either! our DVR took a dump, so I have not seen the show this week, oh well.
I love the way you write your rants and raves, cute format!
i think the sing-along version of things must have originated in the uk-- they do them for everything! sound of music, mary poppins, queen... it's hilarious. when mama mia was in theatres, they even did sing-alongs for the film! i hope you get to see and sing it soon!
