Sundays in My City
Welcome to Sundays in My City, hosted by the lovely and charming Unknown Mami!
Because I'm short on pics this week, I've borrowed a few from other local photographers to add to mine. This one comes from someone named Evan Siegle.
As I type, Mr.4444 is boiling sap in the garage. We have about 100 gallons, which should boil down to about 2 gallons. Here's a snap of the progress...
This shot came from Green Bay Press Gazette correspondent, Mike Peters, and it was taken at an "ideas demonstration" the ARTgarage, in downtown Green Bay.
And speaking of eggs, this cracked me up; it's a sign in Green Bay, at the Stadium Bakery...
For many more shots from communities around the world, check out Sundays in My City!

Happy Sunday! The last photo made me laugh. Great shots.
ReplyDeleteYou tap your own trees? Wow, you must have a lot of maples on your property -- but, 100 gallons of sap only give you 2 gallons of syrup? Wow. That sounds very labor intensive and I hope worth it.
ReplyDeleteImpressive that you make syrup! Only something a southerner can imagine!
ReplyDeleteGreat sign at the bakery!
ReplyDeleteI really need to start snapping pics around town..
ReplyDeleteHave you seen Cheapskate Mom's wordless Wednesday's posts? She is getting a few good chuckles since she moved to WI!
Great pictures. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI've got to to bed. Can barely keep my eyes open.
We are having many Maple Festivals around here.
ReplyDeleteI just love this time of year!!!
Yummy.........
Great pictures.
Thanks for sharing such great pictures. I am off to check out these sites. The first one has to be my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI like these Sundays in My City shots. Like an open book into America!
ReplyDeleteLOL..that sign is great!
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday, long time no blog, speak :)
ReplyDeleteI just LOVE it : ) The egg relaxing : ) The sign. How funny : ) and the drip! Wow. Awesome pictures and awesome post. As usual!
ReplyDeleteI am from the Northwest where we don't take sap from trees...please clarify, is that for maple syrup?
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures! Am I understanding that you are making maple syrup? Because living where maple syrup ingredients literally come out of trees sounds like a dream to me! (but a nightmare to my waistline!)
ReplyDeleteLove the sign! Forgive me because this is foreign to me (literally) but are you making syrup? Gosh now that I wrote it, it sounds dumb, but just in case I'm wrong. Is that maple syrup? I would love to see that in action!
ReplyDeleteLove the last sign! lol
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm glad you did more about the sap. I've been thinking about it since you posted that picture with the bucket on the tree.
ReplyDelete100 gallons boils down to two? Crazy, but yummy!
Those are great pictures. Love the egg and the sign, they both made me smile.
ReplyDeletei love visiting your blog! I am just returning to the blogging world after a couple years and im glad i was able to come across yours
ReplyDeleteI saw that Bakery sign too and had to explain it to Tanner, that's cute:) There is a sign on the river up here right above the dam and it says "Dam- thin ice" I was thinking of sending it in to Readers Digest, it always makes me chuckle......
ReplyDeleteThat is so interesting to see you boil your own sap. I think I would love it.
ReplyDeleteBeing from good old So Cal, the first time I ever saw a tap in a tree I was like WTH?? Why would you ever want to do that....and then I tasted! SO YUM!
ReplyDeleteAnd that sign is hilarious...at least they are honest!
Your blog is one of my favs to read! I love it, everything about the way you post, it is great! I am behind on my blog reading, but I am getting caught up while the boys nap!
