Friday Fragments: Episode #89

Everyone has a story tell. Some of us use novels (hint, hint, Gladys :) and others of us (Matty) use prose. On Fridays, our stories get told in tidbits. Welcome to Friday Fragments (and Friday Night Leftovers, hosted by Danifred, at Sippy Cups Are Not for Starbucks!), where bits and pieces reign. [Click on the buttons above to learn more]

***Dear Craigslist "Buyer" who was so "EXTREMELY interested" in buying the entire bedroom set. You couldn't simply pick up the danged phone and call to say you weren't coming, after all? You are RUDE.

***Holy Radishes! If you are a vegetable gardener, you really need to check out my friend Dawn's favorite gardening tool, GrowVeg.com. It's an on-line garden planner that allows you to map out plans for any kind of garden or landscaping plot. Here's the link to a 30-day free trial.

***Waaaaaah! I want an Ipad!!

***My Favorite Friday Fragmenter this week is Unknown Mami, who wrote about her time at work:

This week, I got to go back, and can I just say that it was awesome. It's so nice to be around other adults and not have anyone want to follow me to the toilet. I mean maybe there are people there that want to follow me to the toilet, but they don't act on it and they don't stand outside the door crying, "mama...mama," and if they did, I would call the cops on them.

Thanks for the grin, U.M. Enjoy your award...

***Please, please, please! If you have even just $10 to spare, will you please consider sponsoring me in my local Relay for Life benefit to fight cancer? My button is over there, in my sidebar. Please consider helping me reach my goal (I'm only 16% there!!!) Thanks.

***Kendall's birthday is Saturday, and in a fit of insanity, Mr.4444 and I agreed to Kendall inviting 13 girls to sleep over. Due to a stroke of bad luck, all 13 accepted. Pray for us....

***You have until April 16th (plenty of time!) to enter BlueViolet's Presto Hot Air Popcorn Popper Giveaway! There are many, many ways to enter, so check it out!

***Dina, a Four Lettre Word is also having a Ribbons and Bows Giveaway that is SIMPLE to enter. Deadline is the 13th.

***BTW, if you're the editing type and hate seeing grammatical or punctuation errors in a post and happen to find one in mine, by all means, let me know. Just because I'm a teacher, doesn't mean I'm a grammar goddess :)

***WooHoo! Kyle has earned his third scholarship! It's a small one, but every little bit counts, as he is paying for college. We're so proud of that kid...

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it! Now, let's hear yours....Link up your FRIDAY FRAGMENTS post here, and don't forget to meet at least a few other fragmenters; you'll be glad you did. Link up at Danifred's place, too! I hear she's quite a storyteller :)

  5. Another scholarship? Cha-Ching!

I bypassed the Ipad and got a netbook. Works like a charm so far.

    Grammy errors? Eh, who cares!!

Hope you reach your goal. It's a great cause.

  7. Congratulations, Kyle! That is AWESOME!! I hope my kids will do as well when the time comes.

Wow, 13 girls sleeping over? I get nervous with just ONE. Haha. Good luck to you!! And happy birthday to her. :)

  8. Waaahhhh... I want an iPad too! And that was way rude of the person to not call you!

  9. I hade rude craigslist people!!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Maybe if Kendall had invited 12 or 14 you'd have better luck :) Sounds like fun to me! Happy Birthday.

Super duper congrats to Kyle. Way to go!

  11. Thanks, Matty!! I fixed the link.

  12. Oh my! You're going to have one crazy/noisy house tomorrow night, aren't you? ;) Happy Birthday to Kendall! :)

    WooHoo! CONGRATS to Kyle!

    I want an iPad too!

That Craigslist person was definitely rude...one of the reasons I prefer eBay. Even for large items like that, I just list it as pick-up only. :)

  13. Thanks for the linky love!! Gotta check out that garden site. We love our homegrown veggies.

    Have a wonderful weekend!

  14. I sold a bunch of items on craigslist and had many of those. Drives me crazy!!

  15. I cannot tell you the number of times I've been stood up by Craigslist a**hats! So frickin rude indeed.

And Dear God in Heaven, good luck with 13 girls at a sleepover. You're a better woman than I.

    Have a great weekend!

  18. This was my first week to link up, but man I had a lot to say!

Congrats on the scholarship. That is awesome news. I'm already thinking about the types of activities I can (push) encourage my kids to participate in so that they can get scholarships. Planning ahead is smart.

  19. 13 girls for a sleepover?!! You poor thing, I hope you survive that! :)

  20. Yikes, that's a lot of girls in one spot, especially teens. We invited most of Aria's frst grade class for her birthday party...ugh. We now have to demand smaller numbers. Good luck.

    Congrats to Kyle!!

Unknown Mami's bit about the escape to adult life sounds all too familiar!

    (And I hate spammers, too!)

  21. Thanks for hosting this! I particpated this week -- it's such a great opportunity to clear my head. (Oh that sounded scary but you know what I mean!)

Congrats on Kyle's scholarship! That is fabulous. And good luck with the epic sleepover. I'll say a prayer. LOL!

    Happy Friday.

  22. I saw Unknown Mami's post and cracked up. She is one funny Mami, isn't she? I would never point out your mistakes, grammatical or otherwise! Smile. Good luck with 14 girls in your house overnight. Been there, done that years ago. Tiring but loads of fun.

  23. Hey there! I've blog surfing today and I've seen Friday Frag posts on a whole bunch of 'em. Then, magically, I next blog buttoned and fate brought me right here to your very own blog! I think it's a sign I get involved in the fun.

  24. Wow, busy week. Good luck with the birthday party. With three teenage daughters at my house, I know what your going to go through.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Yay for Kyle! Lots to be proud about, for sure. I think scholarships really help kids feel like they are an active part of their education.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Congrats to Kyle! That is super cool!

I am so sorry that you are insane and are having all those girls over TO SPEND THE NIGHT.

Kyle could make some big school money by starting a pool and letting us guess how many girls won't be speaking to each other by morning. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  27. You rock Kyle! A very happy birthday to Miss Kendall and loads of prayer for her parents! Heeehehe!

    Ya'll have a wonderful weekend!

    ReplyDelete
  28. We'll pray as long as you don't mind if we tell our friends so we can laugh. I have two turning 13 in 7 weeks and they have taken their toll on my reasoning as well. You can laugh at me then. Or now.

I am linking up because I am good with random and have been hearing that fragmented thinking is welcome over here for weeks.

  29. I got a grant once for $50 and I remember saying that it was hardly worth the effort - then I realized that at the time, I only made $3.25 an hour. The $50 saved me many hours on the job :)

I loved that fragment from Unknown Mami, too! Good choice.

Oh, the slumber party will be fun :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Maybe I should get a job so I can go to the potty alone.

All those girls in one house? Sounds like a Xanax kind of night to me.

    ReplyDelete
  31. OMG! Still laughing from Unknown Mami's fragment!!!!

THIRTEEN TEENAGE GIRLS?!?!?!?! If you survive that you'll have an awesome write-up for my prayer is power post. :)

    BTW, I'm a grammar goddess. ;)

  32. "oops! Something went wrong!" At Mc Linky, but I'm here!

And don't even get me started on the ipad!

  33. I miss blogging everyday and SOOOO miss FF :(

I hope all is well in your world :)

  34. 13 girls for a sleepover? Bwah hahahahahahahahahaha.

    ReplyDelete
  35. We are happy to sponsor you, Mrs.4444. Thanks for doing this!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. "Sleepovers" are so much fun! Kudos to you for having that many over. Our parents used to let us have a lot of girls over--great times!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I want an iPad too! Why isn't Apple giving us one to review?

    Thank your for my award!

Big congrats on the scholarship for your son!

    ReplyDelete
  38. 13 girls? I hope that you survived!

    ReplyDelete
  39. That is SO FUNNY that you mentioned the whole grammar thing and being a teacher! I have my own issues with grammatical errors...and people expect me to be PERFECT because my degree is in education. Go figure!
