I love Unknown Mami; she's smart, beautiful (well, most likely), funny, and sweet. Plus, she hosts one of my favorite memes of the week. This week, with one exception, my photos are symbols of summer...
Freshly-picked berries...
Swiss chard (from Dawn's garden)...
Garage/yard/rummage sale...
Breakfast lovingly made for me by Mr.4444 on a lazy, summer Sunday...
Sunflowers sucking light from the morning sun...
And finally, a cute summer pic of me with my sisters, Judy and Michelle, taken Friday night.
Judy (who lives in Tulsa, OK) came home for a visit, and we went out for perch dinner :)
Find out what summer (or in Mimble's case, fall) looks like in communities all over the world

ReplyDeleteAnd aren't you a lucky girl - look at that lovely breakfast!!!
Lovely photo of you with your sisters, how nice to be all together for an evening. Love the sunflower picture too.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh I am going nuts over every single pic in this post. First of all the berries look so sweet and juicy. I am so hungry for some. I hope you took a picture of someone eating one!! The chard looks wonderful, so fresh. Like baby swiss chard. Great to see the yard sale set up. I like the way you used the saw horses to make a big table. The lovely breakfast your husband made for you is so sweet. What a sweetheart he is.
ReplyDeleteThat is a totally beautiful picture of sunflowers. Where on earth are all these sunflowers??? I do like the picture of you with your sisters. I bet it is a treat when your sister comes to visit from Tulsa.
The field of sunflowers is on a country road in Northeast Wisconsin. It's on a "main drag" sort of road, so I've been loving them up all week. At the point in the photo, it was sunrise, and they were all facing the sunrise so earnestly; it was so gorgeous. At the risk of sounding dumb, I'll admit that I purposely went by there the next day, in the evening, to see if their heads were faced the other way (I wondered if they cocked their heads towards the sun all day. Can you imagine a fast-forward video of that?!) Anyway, it turns out they do not turn their heads; they only face east.
ReplyDeleteIt is not dumb to take a look at nature and see what it's doing. It's investigative! You took some wonderful photos and you, personally, took a very nice photo with your sisters :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!

What a breakfast! Love your photos. I think the sunflowers might be my fave. :-)
ReplyDeleteSince my favorite flowers are yellow, I really like that picture of the sunflowers. All that yellow makes for a bright, cheery and summery picture.
ReplyDeleteMaybe when Mr 4444 retires, he can start a second career as a chef.
I can't decide which one of those sisters is the prettiest. Oh I know, my best friend the lottery winner.
Hi Mrs. Fours, I have been so busy with school starting I haven't been part of the blog world as much as I would like lately. Just wanted to stop by and say HI!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE Sundays! I haven't been to a garage sale in years but use to go to many when I was growing up... I miss that. I Love freshly picked berries, breakfast, and sisters :)
3 pretty sisters... reminds me of my 3 sweet girls. The other two could pass as twins... Wow!
Have a great week :)
~Jenny
It's all perfectly gorgeous. Especially those berries!
ReplyDelete(And the lady in the middle of the bottom photo.)
love you, mami, this post and your blog header!!! xox
ReplyDeleteI love the sisters picture--very cute!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE blackberries! And what beautiful sunflowers!
ReplyDeleteThe sunflowers photo is lovely. It reminds me of driving through Spain and Portugal during summer of 2001 before 9/11 and before international travel changed drastically for all of us. The berries look yummy but are certainly not the Himalayan blackberries that grow rampant in Seattle. I am never sure if I love them or hate them; the canes are very invasive!
