Party Recap 2010

Well, a good time was had by all at our annual Halloween bash.
First of all, I have to say that much of the work was done by my friend Dawn.

(Thank you, Dawn!! I hope you're feeling better today!
You were a real trooper, hanging in when you'd been feeling sick all day!)
To show you proof of how much Dawn helped, allow me to show you the dishes I'm returning to her....

Man, that girl can cook, and she did a lot more than cook, too; she also did a lot of pre-party shopping for me. I'm lucky to have Dawn as a friend, and I only hope I can think of a way to return her kindness.

Here's what Mr.4444 and I looked like (this is the "Hurry up-We-have-a-party-to-start photo, sorry.)

I loved my costume. Here's a better shot of it:

Incidentally, in the interest of full disclosure, while I do love our costumes (ease of ordering, true-to-size, quality fabric), I was disappointed to learn today that BuyCostumes apparently outsources their customer service. I called there today to get help leaving a review for my costume, and I might as well have been speaking in sign language for how well the operator understood my question. Very annoying.

Anyway, the costumes at our party were incredible, as usual.

Teletubbies look so cute when they dance together...

A favorite couple costume was this one...

2010,Bob,Christine

In case you've been living on another planet, this is "Brett Favre" and the infamous reporter, Jen!

(BTW, if you haven't seen the SNL skit on Brett and No-Fly Jeans, you should check it out; it's pretty funny.)

My friend and co-worker, Sarah, came this year!
(She dressed as Amy Farah Fowler, from Big Bang Theory)

Thanks, Kristin, for the lips idea; it was hilarious! :)

Michelle and Heather weren't able to make it after all, but Mr. and Mrs. Weaselmomma did,
and they had more fun than is probably legal.

(Bless his heart--Dave learned that wearing heels all night is not fun.)

Here's hoping your weekend was as much fun!

  1. When you say costume party, you aren't kidding. Looks like everyone got their silly on and had a great time. Did you spike the punch bowl?

  5. As Usual, this party rocked! Dawn's Cheesy Potatoes are something that I must have again. We had a great time with one and all and I must say that dancing with a hairy legged broad was way better than I ever could have anticipated.
Thanks to you and Mr.4444 for all the wonderful hospitality!

  6. Yay! What fun (apparently)! I love your costume Mrs. 4444...bummer about the outsourcing.
I'm an old college friend of WM...great to see her, too! What was her costume (can't tell in the pic, though I feel for Mr. W's feet!)

    Thanks for sharing!

  8. The party was great and it was a team effort to put everything together! Friends just tend to do that for each other! The costumes were amazing and feeling poorly or not, wouldn't miss it!

  10. Thanks. It is definitely a labor of love, and many neighbors helped, too, setting up the tent and "Spooky Walk" in the woods. They are also kind enough to come back and help clean up the next day.

Weaselmomma was a tramp, as in Lady and the Tramp :)

  17. I'm not sure I could handle the costume Mr. 4444 wore. It would be too breezy for me. I have a great joke about kilts but I'll save it for another time.
What would happen if a cheesehead costume showed up? I'm thinking you guys have seen that too many times.

  18. Actually, Lisleman, in the 10+ years we've had our party, we have never once seen a cheesehead costume. Some might be surprised to know that other than football games, there are few occasions that we Wisconsinites wear cheese hats :)

  19. Loving the costumes...I hosted our Halloween WOW (Witches of Wye), and other than moi, only 2 others wore costumes...;( no fun -- and yet -- we did have fun...13 'witches' and 'town' witches (guests) -- does that make us a coven? I am posting photos later in the week.....And, You look FAB...
