No pics of our gorgeous fall colors to post yet; I hope to work on that tomorrow. Instead, here's a pearl of wisdom from Kendall, who is going to meet four children at a new babysitting gig today:
"I really hope they're little."
Why?
"Because kids are like puppies and dogs; you want to get them as puppies when you're a babysitter, because you can kind of "train them" to like you; if they're too old, you just don't know what you're going to get."
For her sake, let's hope they're at least house-trained.
I have never thought about it before, but Kendal has a valid point. Intuitive kid.
ReplyDeleteI spent a considerable amount of time wrangling an 18 month old and was amazed at the energy it took. I can't believe I did that full time once!
ReplyDeleteHouse trained and fun.
ReplyDeleteLOL. She's right! On many levels...the young ones can be wrangled a little better.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the older they get, and the more experience they have with different sitters, they can be a bit to handle. I like her thinking, the younger, the better.
ReplyDeleteI assume you have heard that we would not have children if they first came to us as teenagers.
ReplyDeleteSome teens are more difficult than others but I guess it takes all kinds to keep things going. There is lots of learning going on with both sides during babysitting.
Somehow I think no matter the age Kendall will do a great job but house trained would be good!
ReplyDeleteGod bless ya and have a Super Sunday!!!
Smart girl!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for your fall color pics either, because we don't have any here!
Photos, must have photos!
ReplyDeleteNow there, THERE, is wisdom.
ReplyDeleteExcellent babysitting insight.
