In the Final Stretch!

Guess who's home for the holidays?

I ignored the laundry and instead went to the best Christmas concert I've ever attended, in a gorgeous, old, Catholic church, in Tinytown. We are incredibly lucky to have such a talented band director (A year from now, they're going to march in the Rose Parade again!)  The choir's Pie Jesu brought me to tears. What a wonderful night.

Lights on the tree...Check! (Finally. Don't ask about the ornaments.)
Presents purchased... (What presents? I still don't even have a list.)
Christmas cards sent?... Christmas cards in 2010 are for diehards only. I am not a diehard. If you sent a card to me, thank you very much!  I guess this means I'm off your list for next year :(

  1. Yep, your guessed it...I'm a diehard!!! Your floor decorations will been seen all over the nation as college student come home for the holidays! Show Kyle the on button on the washer and enjoy those concerts baby!!!! :o)

Ya'll have a fun and blessed weekend!

  2. Do you have any idea how comforting it is to know that someone else only has lights on their tree? And cards? What cards?
I am so with you... and now I am going to enjoy the church concert and if anyone dares to say anything, I'll just say "Well, Mrs.4444's didn't send out cards this year either! That should stop them. Maybe we'll start a
    Merry Christmas!

  3. Get that family cracking!! Best gift is having your house full of your babies, laughter and food! Check your done!

  4. I read a newspaper article (old school) that there is marked decline in Christmas cards sending in the US this year. The author attributes it to use of the internet mostly by Gen Yers. That group tends to use social media to keep up to date with friends and family and sees no use for the handwritten cards and much slower postal deliveries. However older populations still use the traditional means, and like me still read the newspaper albeit not every day.

  5. I think the only reason my dirty laundry doesn't look like a mess is that I keep it in a laundry basket.

Sounds like someone is excited to have him home. Enjoy.

  6. Nice pile of laundry! Hope he plans to help you with that mess!!

I sent out Christmas cards but really wonder if any will be received considering how bad our postal service has been lately. A card sent from WI to OH - 5 days to receive.
The virtual card will at least show up in a timely manner!

I love my tree with just light. When I pack up the ornaments I usually leave the lights on the tree for a couple days just to enjoy the glow.
    Merry Christmas!!

  7. Yeah, that looks about like our house right now! I gave up on Christmas cards years ago...but people keep sending them to me, even though I tell them I don't send them!
We're off to start (yes, I said start!) our Christmas shopping! :D

  8. Your laundry room looks like my laundry room!

  9. Hahahaha. Nothing like bringing home dirty laundry huh?

    Have a wonderful Christmas!

  10. i remember doing that to my own mother!!! this post made me call her to again thank her for being my mom!!

  11. My husband has bought some of the gifts for the kids, I planned a head when school had a fundraiser and got some books for the kids. I bought something for my pastor and something for my MIL. Other than that... nothing done. Glad I'm not alone!

  12. It's ok... you weren't on my list to start with ;)

And I haven't gotten presents or a list yet either. Isn't that what Christmas Eve is for?

  13. it bad that my laundry room looks like yours (but I don't have anyone home from college...mine still live here all the time)?

Your 2 cents...
