Friday Fragments, Episode #130!
Welcome! Gather 'round the fireplace/fragment place--It's COLD out there! If our fragments were pieces of firewood, we could have one heck of a blaze (and after seeing the weather report, I'm thinking we'll need them!)
***It is so much easier to take winter when the football season gets stretched an extra 2-3 weeks. Thank you, Green Bay Packers! Our fireplace doesn't hurt, either. Right now, outside, it is five degrees F, with a windchill factor of 11 degrees below zero. The high tomorrow is supposed to be six degrees. Sadly, that's cold enough to get the dog to take care of his business in a hurry, but not cold enough to close school.
***It's been 13 years since the Packers played in the Super Bowl. Come Monday, all Packers fans will be either really, really happy or really, really bummed out. Go PACK!
***When I turned on my phone after school yesterday, I received a text from Mr.4444. It read, "I just got an x-ray. CT scan is scheduled for Friday. When I fell on the garage steps...I'm not worried about my back--I think I broke my f-in hand!" So, I was like What?! You fell on the steps? You're at the hospital?! WTH?!" I replied via text and tried to call him, but he didn't reply. Was he really in the hospital? Why didn't I know that he had fallen on the steps? When did this happen?! Fortunately, after several minutes, I remembered that when Mr.4444 had forwarded a text to me recently, it didn't show up as such. On a hunch, I called my SIL and learned that it indeed was a forwarded text, from Mr.4444's brother. (Mr.4444 had not replied because he was on an airplane.) Poor Bob!
***I have learned so much this week at work--Technology is an amazing, amazing thing, but keeping up with it is exhausting, isn't it? That said, I'm so excited to be learning Prezi, Jing, and getting my own LiveScribe Echo pen to use in the classroom. Now, if someone could just find a way to slow the speed on the Information Highway so that I could catch up a little, I'd appreciate it! Thanks.
***This has been one of the busiest work weeks I've had in months, really--Just one thing after another...busy-busy-busy. Nothing horrible at all, just an incredible number of commitments and tasks. I am so grateful for weekends! I hope that you, too, get some R&R this weekend. Why not start by unloading your own fragments and linking up here:

Wishing your Packers luck. Our teams didn't do squat this year.
ReplyDeleteGlad Mr4444 is okay, hope his brother turns out okay too!
5 degrees? brrrr. To think I was whining about 39 and windy today.
I've fragmented but it is set to autopost when it is "Friday" here so it will be a few hours ;)
I've had the text forwarding issue before. I thought my husband was texting me, but he was forwarding a message from BIL. I was very confused.
ReplyDeleteI'm working on lining up my fragments. It's like a jigsaw puzzle. You interested in blog bet for Sunday's game?
ReplyDeleteHere's hoping that any good the packers do this Sunday is only worthy of a fragment next Friday. Go Bears!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFive degrees? Yikes! They SHOULD close school when it's that cold! Who wants to leave the house in that weather?
ReplyDeleteI'm so tired of the cold..... and 5 degrees? That's crazy!
ReplyDeleteThe text forwarding issue is not cool. I can't complain about the cold because I live in Arizona but, I do wish it to be much warmer for you (originally from Chicago). Have a great weekend and thanks for Friday Fragments.
ReplyDeleteWhew! That whole text forwarding thing was scary. Glad that your husband is okay, hope his brother is feeling better. Ouch.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about technology. Sometimes all the new things make me feel old...and I'm not old, just behind. lol
I would not survive long living somewhere with a windchill of 11 degrees below!
ReplyDeleteMy husband's late father was a huge Packers fan, so my hubby is rooting for your team.
ReplyDelete5 degrees? Holy Moly. I hope you get that fire this weekend, we need to get some wood & get ours going too. It's going to be a cold, rainy weekend here.
Happy Friday!
Hard to know who to root for in the Bowl since both of the teams are underdogs!
ReplyDeleteWhile you're getting frosty toes I've been getting sunburned ;-) You can have my fragment firewood bits - I don't need 'em!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fabulous and relaxing weekend :-)
text forwarding has gotten me into scrapes before too... they really aren't clearly marked...
ReplyDeleteGlad the hubster is okay! Go Packs!! Hope you get some down time this weekend sounds like you needed it! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteI just typed a comment and then remembered I was responding to a FB comment by accident. So I'll start again. A couple of nights ago, I told Keith that you were one of most tech-wise teachers I know. I'm not sure if that's because you and your district are advanced or because we're not! Now I have to go google all those things you learned about. I'll probably forward a few texts, too!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I can cheer on the Packers. I'm a Falcons fan and I'm not over the loss yet -- rotten jerks looked terrible against GB. Yes, I'm bitter.
ReplyDeleteA Jets/Packers superbowl would definitely be something to see! I'm hoping for the best.
ReplyDeleteI like Jing a lot, very useful tool.
It's 8 degrees here. I know I shouldn't complain, because that's normal for other areas, but geez, it's really unpleasant!
Forward text can truly throw a body for a loop and the technology thang...ya'll know I'm hangin' on with a frazzled rope here.
ReplyDeleteI remember soon after I began bloggin' Mrs.4444's took the time to walk me through settin' up a link. Step by step and with pictures too. Thanks you Mrs. 4444's.
I'd like to think I've come a long was baby, but who the heck can keep up???
Gees Louise, before I only used to computer to check announcements, type IEP's, and read email.
God bless you sweetie and have a marvelous weekend!!!
Good luck stretching that football season out.
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't freeze to death!
Enjoy a restful weekend after a crazy, technology filled week!
I LOVE texting, but it occurs to me sometimes that it's caused an awful lot of problems at times ;)
ReplyDeleteWhew..I cannot remember a January when I was this busy! It is not as cold here as it is there..our lows are 14 & 15 this weekend but seriously it is too cold!
ReplyDeleteWe got another 2 inches of snow this morning; I have no right to complain because my husband does all the work; I walk out into a warm car and go(I really appreciate him).
I'm not sure who to cheer for yet...
Technology; I too owe you a lot. Thank you! When I first started blogging a year ago this week you were there to answer questions and help me along (((HUGS)))!
Yeah weekend!!!
I'm glad Mr.4444 is actually okay - and yes - it is colder than a welldigger's butt.
ReplyDeleteAs far as your Packers are concerned ... well, I'm sorry, but I have to hope for sadness on the part of all those who live North of Kenosha (Only because I know Bear fans who actually live in Kenosha).
Go Bears.
Brr. Too cold for me! The weather here has been wonderful, nice and sunny. Glad I could finally link up! I miss you!
ReplyDeleteIt's been so long since I've participated but here I are! ;0)
ReplyDeleteEven though I could really care less about football I've watched the last two games and I'm sure I'm going to be subjected to this next one. I have no idea who I'm "supposed" to root for though. :0P Guess I'll have to ask the hub!
That is really frickin COLD! I could NOT deal with that!
I have no idea what that new technology is so you're ahead of me there. LOL
Happy Friday!
I know what you mean about being busy. I've been going from morning til bedtime for days now and I honestly can't wait until this
ReplyDeleteI hope the Packers get to the Superbowl, I really, really do. I mean, you ran barefoot in the snow!
Technology is passing me by, too. Is there a video I can watch that will get me up to speed LOL
Have I told you lately how much I love you?! What a dear soul you are. :)
