Flipping Awesome

It's been a while since I've vlogged, so when an amazing thing happened to me this week, I figured I'd share it via video.
(BTW, Please excuse the hyperventilating--I settle down eventually.)

By the way, I have no recollection at all of telling my collegue that I had been wishing for a FLIP camera.

  1. I think I know why this spontaneous gift happened to you: it's because you inspire people. You really do. I'm guessing you do that all the time as a teacher too. Certainly your blog has such a warmth about it and you are always promoting other bloggers. Those good things can only return to you. And that's why this happened to you. You deserve it.
As an educator, I can somewhat imagine what you and your colleagues are going through at work and I feel for you all.

  5. What a fantastic way to start the week, especially after the madness in WI!

Even in the midst of untold negative vibes, there are also earth angels to help remind us that there are those who DO recognize hard work and passion :)

  8. I have been the recipient of such a gift from people I only know online and was BLOWN AWAY at the generosity and thoughtfulness. It is definitely harder to be on the receiving end when you are a giver. I'm glad you accepted the gift gratefully. Think how good that made HER feel to be able to gift you something you so appreciated. Have a wonderful week.

  9. Do you get it now, Sweetie? You are an incredibly gifted and motivating teacher and woman. It probably gave your new friend such joy to share that camera with you. Can't wait to hear what projects you're doing with it :)

  10. Congrats - Never used a flip but I certainly have heard of them. Random kindness is a great thing. I think you are smart to avoid the emotional aspects of extreme right or left politics.

  13. What an awesome thing she did for you! It's so heart-warming when people do things out of the kindness of their heart.

You are an amazing woman, Mrs. Fours! I have had you on the brain these last weeks while hearing about all the stuff going on in Wisconsin and apparently I'm not the only one. :)

  15. Just hearing about it makes me want to cry. It's amazing how people will let something go to waste rather than share, but not this lady. You need to keep her as a friend, she's good people.

Hang in there with all the issues you all are having. You are appreciated by many.

  18. Wow, great story. I gave my daughter a Flip HD camera for Christmas. In return I got her old Flip camera. It neeeds some work but the old camera when it works does a great job. Be sure to have it with you wherever you go.

  19. Yay for you!! What a wonderful way to start your week...especially in such a difficult time. I was recently able to be the giver in a similar situation, & can't tell you how my heart was bursting with joy to give something to a person I don't know well, but who REALLY needed it. (I'm truly not trying to toot my own horn, but I wanted you to know that it probably made her feel just as good, if not better, to do this for you.)
    Happy week!

  22. What a great story. I'm happy for you.

My best friend and I were the recipients of a random act of kindness today. We were having a sushi and asked for our bill only to find out that someone had paid it for us. It was just so awesome. I have to think of a way to pay it forward.

  24. You aren't seeing the credit that is due to YOU. YOU took time out of your day to show her something that you thought she could benefit from. You went above and beyond for her and she's showing you how she appreciates you. So, while I think it is absolutely amazing, sweet, and wonderfully generous of her to share with you the Flip, I give you kudos as well for what you did for her. :)

    Way to go!

One more quick thing - thank you for being a teacher. Especially in Wisconsin.
