Aunt Bette is very straight-laced. She's a retired English teacher and Sunday school teacher, after all.
She's a God-fearing woman who wouldn't say "shit" if she had a mouthful of it,
and I've never known her to drink alcohol.
She's an upstanding woman, a fantastic mother and grandmother,
dedicated to her family and all things innocent...
....Which is why this photo, circa 1960(?) or so, of Bette
the one and only time that anyone knows of her consuming alcohol to excess, is such a treasure.
Doesn't she look adorable?
Poor Bette; judging from the photo,
this may be the reason she never drank again.haha
Yet another reason to get old slides converted into a 21st -medium.
Thanks, Memory Hub!
you will never get old pictures or slides of me!!!
ReplyDeletePoor Aunt Bette ....she still looks sweet and innocent even in her stupor!
ReplyDeleteDoes Aunt Bette know you posted this? I'm sure it's not one of her proud moments! what age does she teach in Sunday School?
ReplyDeleteAwwww, she looks so innocent. And very, very drunk. They did an awesome job restoring it, though. Very vivid!
ReplyDeleteThat is HILARIOUS.
ReplyDeleteNow that is one relaxed lookin' woman.
ReplyDeleteI think I saw her at Oscars!
ReplyDeleteAunt Betty will be paying you back somehow I think.
ReplyDeleteAdorable for sure. ;)
ReplyDeleteDoes Aunt Betty read your blog? LOL! That is an adorable picture!
ReplyDeleteyou are being to quick to judge here. I'm sure she was just admiring and studying the fine workmanship of the bar. She probably was very impressed with the fine bar cushion and how well it supported her head.
ReplyDeleteWow. That's a beaut of a photo (and a beauty of a lady.)
ReplyDeleteMiss Bette looks to be in the zone.
ReplyDeleteLOL!! Yes, Aunt Bette got a chuckle out of my telling her I wanted to post the pic. Karen, she is actually a former SS teacher (and a retired high school english teacher, as well). Sadly, Bette still has Dial-Up, so she probably won't get to read your comments at home. On the bright side, I'll be seeing her in July, so I'll print these for her. Thanks for commenting :)
ReplyDeleteThis is priceless!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this! Reminds me of my mama.
