BlogHer Blunder

Four years ago, when I was a toddler blogger, I joined BlogHer, a network of bloggers. To be honest, I enjoyed the articles and meeting so many incredible women, but I just didn't feel connected to the site. Why? Because two time (TWO), I requested a BlogHer ad for my blog and was denied. WTHeck, I thought. So many bloggers I know have them. Why do they think I'm not worthy? It kinda hurt my feelings, and I drifted away.

Enter embarrassing realization....

Recently, I wandered over to BlogHer again. I have no idea why; just looking for something to read, maybe. Anyway, when I started poking around in my profile there, I realized that...um....I never told BlogHer that I actually have a blog! Never told them I'm on Twitter, or Facebook, or anything else. Wow. Embarrassing.

So, anyway, I got excited about finally representing myself for real on BlogHer and felt inspired to write some posts on subjects I wouldn't normally post here, and guess what?! Two days later, they emailed me to tell me that they wanted to feature me on BlogHer! (That means they put my posts on their main page that day in the category I posted in.) How cool is that?!

I would be grateful if you'd consider checking out one of my posts:

*A vlog with Kendall about the time she fell down the basement stairs (in a baby walker)
*Are We Obligated to Take Care of Our Parents One Day?
*Is That You, Dad?

If you're a member of BlogHer, I would love to Friend you/Follow you. Look me up, please, and I'll return the favor! Thanks!

  2. wow two comments in a row - I just read the call from dad post and really enjoyed it. Since I have read some other posts about your dad it meant even more. Life happens often with no control but maybe our memories of the past and the characters in it can be tuned to the positive. I might start tuning in my dad on the positive channel.

Oh I didn't leave the comment over there because I'm not a member and not sure if I want to be. But why not post that post over here too?

    thanks for getting me thinking.

  3. Good idea, Lisleman. I will do that. Other people also link to posts from their blogs, but I'm not sure yet how to do that :)

  6. I am popping over right this very minute to friend you and to read your posts. I have two posts syndicated on blogher, too.

Love your family pictures. That beach scene looks suspiciously like Sleepy Bear dunes in Michigan. (I grew up in Michigan.) Funny to think that area looks so much like Florida.
