As I type this, I'm at my home-away-from-home city of Oceanside, California, at my friend Kandee's house. Therefore, for Sundays in My City, you're getting shots of this leg of our California vacation!
I took a walk to the San Luis Rey Mission yesterday. It's beautiful.
I can't get over the flowers here!
Kyle tried his hand at surfing. Here he is, right after saying, "How hard can it be?!"
And here he is, right after saying, "It's harder than it looks!"
(Yes, he had fun, but he wasn't able to stand on the board this time, though he was the next day.)
Saw this little guy at the local Farmers Market. He was sooo loving the attention.
I got the sunglass lady's card but misplaced it.
Email me if you're dying to contact the seller; I'm sure I'll find the card eventually :)
Today, we found some tide pools
And fun places to climb into (if you like that kind of thing).
And finally, my friend Kandee and me.
What a sweetheart she is (to let us crash at her house)
not to mention her sweet family (especially Carly, who gave up her bedroom for us!).
Thanks, again, Kandee!!
Two more days of fun left in our memorable, mom-son trip!
Yesterday, Kyle said, "There hasn't been a single day of this trip that I didn't have a blast!"
In two days, I get to finally meet Unknown Mami!!!
Until then, like you, I'll have to visit her at Sundays in My City.
Happy Sunday! :)
lookin' good, mom! and skinny! i miss you sooo much.
ReplyDeletelove, kendalllllll.
Beautiful photos in texture, light and color, exquisite. A lovely portrait. My favorite is the dog with glasses.

ReplyDeleteComing around a little early for the SIMC party.

Safe travels and enjoy, xo jj
I bet that any trip with you and your kids would be a blast! i'm so glad that Kyle is having so much fun.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are lovely. How great that your camera got back to you in time for the trip.
I'm expecting you to assimilate into the Mami household and have your photo taken with her, with a bag on your head of course!
What fun!!!
Love how you're capturing your vacation - and what a vacation it is! Checked out your list of stops on your Friday fragments. I've never had any visitors hit all of those in one trip. (Usually one trip Yosemite, one trip Marin..). You're doing almost a whole state tour. Enjoy your morning with Unknown mami!
ReplyDeleteHow great to have boy time....
ReplyDeleteI think you'll be sharing this trip with us for a few posts (I hope so). I got the impression these places are all new to you. If so, what is the biggest surprise?
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing the great pictures.
Awesome pics thanks for the post I want to go now =)
ReplyDeleteLooks like you both had a great time!
ReplyDeleteLookin' good!
Your audience is looking forward to seing more photos from your trip. Hopefully the new camera performed as expected.
ReplyDeleteProud of Kyle. I've lived in California my whole life and have never once tried surfing and don't think I ever will.
ReplyDeleteYou rock, Kyle! I also lived most of my life in California and never surfed, although both my brothers did!
ReplyDeleteThere are beautiful missions from San Diego all the way up to Unknown Mami's town. As part of the 4th grade state history curriculum, we all had to pick a mission and do a report. Some classes had to make models of the missions!
So glad you got to see and take part in so much fun!
