Friday Fragments: Episode #186

Mommy's Idea

Fragments come in all shapes and sizes.
My "fragments" this week are a little chunky, but I only have five.
You're welcome to link up any number or size of fragments :)
Thanks for stopping by.

***About a month ago, I posted an invitation on Facebook to anyone interested in joining me in a Soup Swap. Because it was Facebook, we ended up with an eclectic group of women: one of my neighbors, a cousin, an old friend (No offense, Sue.haha), a friend, and a friend-of-a-friend. We met at a restaurant for lunch, had a delicious meal, made some new friends, and swapped our soup. Since then, I have enjoyed two absolutely wonderful soups: Beef Vegetable and Sherried Tomato and am looking forward to the rest!

***Last week, I ran into a former co-worker who now works at the high school. We said hi and whatnot, and on Sunday night, she sent a message to me on Facebook:

I had a dream this weekend that you gave a presentation on making our students feel better so they will perform better....when they arrive first thing in the morning and when they leave out school doors every afternoon, they all need a kiss on the cheek!!!!! How fun is that? Makes me laugh!

***This message might be for you...If so, I mean it from the bottom of my heart.

***There have been some very big changes in my life in the past month; my son moved a few hours away, my daughter untied the apron strings a bit by starting a job (which takes her away from home more than I'm used to and prevents us from taking the same car to Tinytown each day as per our routine), our dog passed away, and [Big Secret Reveal!] my husband's last day of work was Friday, and he is going out of town soon for a long trip. That is all I am allowed to say about the job thing. (I can tell you it is a very good thing!) So, basically, my whole family (including the dog) has left me, at pretty much the same time. Just kidding (for the most part) but this house is really, really quiet. This has been a time of great change for me; I don't recognize this feeling, and I don't like it.
***On the very bright side, I have some of the best friends; Dawn and I talk often (She's awesome.)  A few of you (you know who you are) and several neighbors took the time to mail sweet condolence cards after we had to let Cooper go. Sweet Frau sent a book to me (which I will tell you more about some day). Brainella sent me a copy of her favorite book, just because I said I would love to read it. (It's a loaner.) I also received Melisa's Remembering Ruby book and appreciated it very much.  I am happy at my job and work with wonderful people. My husband is awesome, and we love each other very much. Kendall's musical ends this weekend, so she'll be home more. And finally, we're talking about getting a golden doodle like this one:

or maybe an English Creme Golden Doodle, like this one:

However, these dogs cost an arm and a leg (each). I have no idea how we'd ever be able to afford one, so I'm wondering...Anyone know a breeder who might give me a designer dog in exchange for a blog review? (Didn't think so.)

Looking forward to the distraction of your fragments....Link up your FRIDAY FRAGMENTS post here:

  1. Can't understand why I am the first to comment and two days later, lol Yes you have had a lot of changes all of a sudden and I am sure if will take time to adjust. Kylie is supposed to be looking for a job although I don't think she really wants one! Only because as you said with your daughter, Kylie spends a lot of time home with us. So it would take an adjustment for all if us. On Tuesday's she has her piano lesson and then my husband picks her up and they are home around 5:30and Serena starts asking around 4:30, hey where is daddy and Kylie? So cute
