***This summer, I vowed not to work in July, and it's been going swimmingly so far! Aside from a book I read while camping, I haven't done any work for school.
***I did talk for more than an hour with a teacher friend about the extreme rigor increase to the 2013 state academic testing, which is based on the Common Core standards adopted nationally. This test is going to blow the minds of those used to the prior tests. I think it's very important that students and parents understand the changes, so I'm working on a post on that topic.
***Milo had only four potty accidents in the house in the first two weeks that we had him. Since camping, (two days), he's had six! I blame that on confusion caused by living in the great outdoors for four days. (Keeping my fingers crossed that I'm right.)
***How cool is it that you can now blur people's faces out in your YouTube videos, now? Very cool. Right now, there is only the capability of blurring all faces in the video (not just those you select), but I still think this is a useful tool.

***We're having a family reunion on Sunday for my dad's side of the family. I think there's only been one before and (because of Facebook) this one will include more than 20 extended relatives we've never met. I'm excited.
***I got the color of my hair taken down a couple of notches this week, and I'm really happy with it. Sorry--no "before" picture (or after). Stay tuned.
***Thanks to Heather, I found this wonderful tutorial on how to make a gallery photo wall. Here's a photo from the tutorial--It shows how to plan it out.
I think it's absolutely brilliant, and Mr.4444 will be thrilled, as well, as it will greatly decrease his level of stress when it gets to the "Where do you want this?" part of the project.
***I recently started following Homestead Survival via Facebook and have found many great resources, including this idea from Somewhat Quirky Designs.
What do you think? Love it or hate it? Maybe you have to have just the right yard for it? Regardless, if you'd like to know more, click here.
***Last night, Milo and I were celebrating a day without potty accidents and the fact that he had finally noticed the woods outside our house and actually used them to do his "business!" Capitalizing on the excitement, I raced into the garage, heading towards the door, calling out enthusiastically for Milo to join me in the house when I slipped! Fearing a very heavy, painful crash into the wall ahead of me, I did an aerial cartwheel, triple Lutz, or some other Olympic maneuver (I'm sure) and landed on my feet! That's the good news. The bad news is I pulled every muscle on the left side of my body. Lots of ice and one chiropractic adjustment later, I will survive, but I'm disappointed that I don't have video to share.
***Holy cow! I just found out that there are 28 people signed up for a presentation I'm giving at a technology conference in a couple weeks (20 Ways to Use Google Apps in the Classroom). I'm excited but a little nervous! I'll let you know how it goes, of course.
Okay, that's it for me. Now it's your turn!
