TGIF. That's all I'm going to say about that.
It's time to share the bits and pieces of our weeks that didn't make it into posts of their own but are still worth sharing. Thanks for stopping by :)
***My sister Judy's birthday is today! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SIS!
***In case you missed it, I got some good news from Google this week. My bad news is that I may be allergic to Steve and should know for sure early next week. Finally, I've disallowed anonymous commenting for a while, due to too many idiotic spammers.
***This post is a gem for kids on the autism spectrum (and others): Best iPad Apps for Autism and Aspergers Syndrome.
***Yesterday, at school, I had more than my share of drama, seriously; I had a student put me through the ringer. I'm not going to get into the details except to say that I had to have a little cry at my desk during my lunch. Today, though, was a better day, thank goodness.
***This weekend, I get to go to an event hosted by Mr.4444's company. The last time he worked for a company that did anything cool was back when I was supposed to join him in Las Vegas on September 12, 2001; we all know what happened to that flight.
Okay, now it's your turn. Spill! (and have a great weekend)
Wow, I bet you were glad you were a day late on that flight, right? Kevin was in New York..state, far from city in that year, the first week in September. So glad he was home when it all happened.
ReplyDeleteWas it Artie? Was that his name?
Sorry to hear your student gave you a hard time. Happy Birthday to your Sister and have a great weekend.
ReplyDeletehave a great time at the company event. I know some people don't enjoy those but I always did. I had asked about Google Sites - funny I had tried that service back 08 and forgot I did. Can you imagine the old abandoned stuff on the internet - volumes I'm sure. thanks for hosting
ReplyDeletethanks for the apps link! Got this on the right post ;-)
ReplyDeleteI was really hoping your cough wasn't due to a puppy allergy. I am allergic to my dogs. It helps if I keep them groomed and fragrance free!
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a drama free weekend.
So sorry about the rough time your student gave you - mine do too, sometimes. ;) Glad today was better.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you had a rough day/week?
ReplyDeleteIf it helps at all, I have SO MUCH respect for what you do. Like, the bowing down at your feet kind of respect. For real.
xoxo
Hope you have a great time at the company event and a relaxing weekend to recharge!
ReplyDeleteWorking in middle school, I get to eat my kids for lunch if they get on my nerves and the one doing the cryin' is not me. Hopefully tomorrow will be better
ReplyDeleteI bet you would like the book, "Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend" by Matthew Dicks, an elementary school teacher. It's about an autistic child written from the point of view of his imaginary friend, Buda. Sorry you had such a bad day-kids can really be emotionally draining sometimes. They need teachers like you!
ReplyDeleteSorry you had a bad day I understand. Have fun at your event .if they didn't cancel all flights after that horrible day do you think you would have gone?

ReplyDeleteWe just flown the weekend before that... ironically, down to where I live now for a wedding.
ReplyDeleteMy ex used to work for fun companies like that (for all I know, maybe he still does :-)) but being a public servant, I've never worked for one myself!
Very cool about your niece! The coolest thing my hubby's company does is our Christmas parties: every other year it's a cruise on a yacht down the river, the other years it's a family affair. With so many touristy things around here, it's pretty fun, although there really aren't too many employees that have smaller children!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a good day!
Tears at lunch. How well I understand. I hope your days continue to improve.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your sister!!!! {I am very close to my own sister, so this was a special piece of fragmenting for me}
ReplyDeleteTears are a good release of stress and pressures. I'm glad to read that the following day wasn't quite as hard on you.
Ps....the linky tools thumbnails have disappeared?!!! I will come back sometime later today to see if they once again show. Weird...they were there before I linked up.
DeleteI'm sure more teachers in a day have students put them through the ringer... its why I think teachers are the most amazing people in the world! Hope todays a better day!
ReplyDeleteUgh, sorry about the rough day.
ReplyDeleteHope your sister has a great birthday and you all have a great weekend!
Happy Birthday to your sister! Hope you have a great weekend.....a well deserved one for sure! ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteGlad yesterday was a better day for you ... hope you don't have any more like Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteAllergic to Steve? Awwww.
Happy birthday to your sister!
Enjoy your get-a-way, sounds like you can really use it.
ReplyDeleteYour niece is really good, I was impressed by the character clip.
Not having a very good day, so I'm off to check out your good Google news. I need some good news.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your sister. My brother's Bday is today too.
ReplyDeleteGlad today was better. All I can say is, if today wasn't Friday, I'd be callin' in sick tomorrow. AND the next day. I had to fight off a cry fest at my desk this week too...but not because of a student. I was getting my chain yanked by the principal- or so I thought. Hope y'all have a blast at the event!
ReplyDeleteprobably the last to get in...
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you. I certainly hope you are not allergic to Steve, he is just too cute and such a good playmate for Milo. Congratulations on the Google news and have a great time at the party!
