Friday Fragments: Episode #218

Mommy's Idea

I published this post Thursday night right before my computer lost power. Now I'm back to finish it :)
Welcome to Friday Fragments, were "Incomplete" is a perfectly acceptable grade :)  Collect bits and pieces throughout your week and then share them in a post that's satisfying and easy to write.

***Freaky coincidence: As I typed "bits and pieces" in the previous paragraph, a man on the news said the exact same words simultaneously. Hmm...

***I just love this little cutie pie:

I love the other little cutie pie, too, but Milo will always have a special place in my heart, especially because I know he will never be big enough to steal food off the kitchen counter.

***I'm in a much better place this week than I was last week, thank goodness. I was kindly given some time to sit down and do some strategic planning with a colleague, and I'm gratified to tell you that today I had a breakthrough with Artie. Of course, tomorrow could be a whole other story, but I'm going to enjoy this day and hope for the best in the future.

***I'm planning a fall break trip to Chicago with Kendall and Maren, and I'm getting excited!  I'll be keeping my copy of Chicken in the Car handy during the process (just as soon as I find it. If I loaned it to you, it's time to return it.haha)

***It's getting chilly in these parts. I've got to find a way to get our treadmill fixed for the dogs.

Okay, it's your turn now--Share your Friday Fragments link below and make some new friends by visiting some other fragmenters-I know they all appreciate company :)

  1. very nice of you to put the linky thing up before you were finished. Sounds like the classroom is adjusting. Isn't there always a period of adjustment with a new class? Everyone sizing each other up?

  2. So glad this week was better! Hoping that the meeting of the minds with Artie is a more permanent thing ;-) Or that his zombies take over and give you some more prep time

  3. We sort of lives in that ourselves this week. Both of the iPad charging cords died. I am so glad to hear your week was better and we look forward to hearing whatever fragments you can toss that us next week :-)

  4. I love that cutie pie too! Better stick to that because if I have to share how my week was, you may get high blood pressure yourself. Just another lovely week as a public servant.

  5. Milo just keeps getting cuter. We had a horrible doggie scare this week.
I'm glad your class is settling in, hope it lasts!
I used to live in Chicago, Zion actually. My daughter was born there 36 years ago...yikes. I remember pretty much freezing the entire time, we lived right on the lake and the wind never stopped. I loved going into Wisconsin for breakfast and antique shopping on the weekends. I hope you have a great time with the girls!

  7. Milo IS the cutest! And, yes, the height that can't reach the counter to steal food is a definite plus, too bad my kids are small and my husband said a tiny dog, "Wouldn't survive our house", so we ended up with our 34 lb. dog who is the perfect height to steal food from the counter and table when nobody is looking, which she does, shamelessly! Glad you've had a breakthrough with Artie, hope it continues!

  9. Oh dear... blogger box instead of Discus again!

It's getting chilly here too, but not your kind of chilly!

Glad work is settling... I can't seem to catch a break here!

  10. This weekend will be chilly too. Not looking forward to it. Have fun with the girls on your trip to Chicago.
I prefer large dogs to small, but Milo is the most adorable little pup. It makes me want to change my mind. :)

  11. So glad that you had a breakthrough ... hope it continues.

I always thought I was a "big dog" person (our most recent dogs were a lab and a golden retriever), but after having a week with our daughter's bichon/yorkie mix, I could become a fan of a smaller dog. The part I like best is that if the dog doesn't want to do what I want her to do, I can just pick her up and "make" her. ha!

  12. I'm having a hard time remembering to move things to the back of the counters (and tables)! It's been so long since we've had a big dog, but our dogs have never tried to snatch food from there! Laika is a bit different than our other dogs were! :)

  13. That Milo is so cute! He would steal anybody's heart! So glad you had a better week!

I'm having problems linking, but I actually think it's my computer, so I'll keep trying.

  14. I absolutely adore Milo and I've never even seen Milo in person or should I say in dog?

  15. If you don't find your copy of "Chicken" perhaps you can find one at your local library. If it isn't right there on the shelf, you can put one on hold and it will come in from another library in your system.

I "deal" with those holds every day of my library life at McMillan.
