Sometimes, the Apple That Falls from the Tree Is Actually a Nut

As we get older, my sisters and I are becoming a lot like Mom. I know I must really be getting old, though, because even my baby sister (who is seven years younger than I am) has begun to take up Mom's habits. Take this Halloween, for example; this is how Michelle dressed on Mom's favorite holiday.

Her Facebook status:

On my way to pick the kids up from school. I will stay in the car. I'm not thaaaat mean.

That really made me smile, and today I stumbled upon this shot, aptly labeled, "Humiliation builds character."

She's an awesome mom. Her boys adore her. And Mom, I'm sure, is proud that Michelle is following in her footsteps,

not unlike someone else I know....

    1. Rebecca, it really is fun. My 6th grader (and the 2 other boys I pick up) laughed. It was fun to play along, like telling them to "BUZZ OFF" when they were getting out of the car. My 8th grader faked like he hated it, but LOUDLY moaned "OMG" and his friend said "THAT IS AWESOME!!", so I know it wasn't scarring. I also wore the costume when I gave out candy. Kids LOVE it. And my BIGGEST fans??? Teen and pre-teen girls!! So many of them said they loved it. So, GO FOR IT!!
