Spooky Grandma C

Yesterday, I mentioned that my mom's favorite holiday is Halloween. Although I haven't been to her house on Halloween in several years (since my own kids got old enough to want to trick or treat with friends in their own neighborhoods) I do know what goes on over there. Mom dresses up in one getup or another. She's serves homemade chili and reads a ghost story or two to Michelle's boys and serves hot homemade apple cider to to them when they've had their fill of trick-or-treating. If they get bored, they help hand out little Tootsie Rolls.

Here's a photo from *this year. As you can see, Caden enjoys the telling as much as the story itself (which he has heard many times).

And, in case you haven't had your fill of scary stories this season,
here's a video from 2009 of Mom reading a classic Grandma C ghost story. Enjoy!

*This year, Mom went as "Candidate Elsie," a character she created long,
long ago for an election bit that she does.

  3. Funny hat you mom is wearing--she could be a good audio book reader! Maybe she'll get discovered from you featuring her reading on your blog. What a precious video to have of your mom!
