Don't Worry--She's Okay!

Poor Kendall got in a wreck this morning on her way to school! She lost control on a slippery, snow-covered country road and narrowly missed hitting a milk tanker head-on. Instead, she got away with this:

Unfortunately, just as she was enjoying a second of "Wow--That could have been a lot worse!", the other side of her car was hit by the vehicle that had been following her.

Sadly, given the car's previous condition and age, it would cost more to fix it than it's worth.

When she called me (in tears, of course), Kendall had the presence of mind to clearly say "I'm okay. I'm okay, Mom!" Fortunately, the trucker (and most of his truck) was okay, and he was very sweet to Kendall afterwards. Also fortunately, the teenage driver of the other car was also unharmed (her car, not so much). Both girls received tickets for driving too fast for conditions. The other student was also cited for following too closely.

Thank God all involved are safe. Hopefully, both girls will be positively changed forever by this terrifying experience.

We're down to one car when Mr.4444 is out of town.

Obviously, it could be a lot worse.

Be careful out there, Folks...

  1. Things like this can be blessings in disguise if an important lesson on driving is learned. I am so happy to hear that no one was hurt. Sorry about the car.
