Sundays in My City: Mr. Tinytown High School

Unknown Mami
Sundays in My City is a weekly photo meme hosted by the lovely and talented Unknown Mami.
In our city last week,
the junior class of Tinytown High School held a fundraiser to raise money for prom.
Boys competed to win the title of "Mr. Tinytown High School."

Each boy had a female escort, and Kendall agreed to be her friend Joey's.
For their roles, the girls got to wear a formal prom gown courtesy of a local bridal shop,
and the boys wore tuxes.

It was a very entertaining evening!
Nine contestants were evaluated during introductory skits, talent, eveningwear, and sports demonstrations, and interviews.

For his skit, Joey pretended to have drawn the name of an unwilling escort.
Kendall stepped up to rescure the poor girl and be a "Tribute"

(It's a Hunger Games thing.)

For the talent portions, the contestants were allowed to have other people join them.
Joey asked Kendall to do a duet with him for his talent act.
He played a mandolin (beautifully!), and she played her ukulele.
It was a big hit!

(If you're interested in hearing their performance, I have a grainy video you can listen to here.)

Incidentally, you might recognize Joey...

I know where you're going in your heads--No; they're not dating; they're just great friends.

And now, back to the show!

When all the competing was over, it was time for the big announcement.
Joey was worried,

Third runner-up, not Joey.
Second runner-up, not Joey.

Kendall wasn't worried...
She had great confidence in Joey.

First runner-up, not Joey.

Joey won!

These kids sure have made some great memories this year.

P.S. No, Kendall and Joey will not be going to prom together; they're just very good friends.

P.S. In case you're wondering why I write "Tinytown" but then post photos that could help stalkers identify the school, the reason is simply that I don't want my post searcheable on Google; while I obviously have my picture on my blog (and so am not anonymous), I don't want to make it easy for my students to find it.
