Friday Fragments: Episode #259

I'm suddenly back to blogging; so much going on, I guess. It feels good to be back.
Not sure I'm ready for Friday Fragments to come home just yet, though,
so visit Unknown Mami to link up today. (Thanks, Claudya! :)

***My mom is doing so well, following her hip-replacement surgery on Monday, that the folks at the rehab facility think she won't be there long. I'm very grateful for that, as well as the face that I have seven siblings to help share the "load" of taking care of Mom's cat, house, and many plants, etc.

***Isn't this cute? My aunt made it for my mom. There is real dirt inside the pockets/shirt and flowers growing in them; to water it, you just put the hose down "her" neck.haha The fabric is a type of polyester or nylon, I think.

***Do you have a FitBit? If you do, look me (Mrs4444) up!  I've been getting plenty of exercise this summer. I hope I can keep it up once school starts.

***Kendall has left on her Nor'Wester trip, which she's looked forward to for years and paid for herself.  From the camp brochure:  Campers will paddle and portage the lakes of northern Minnesota's Boundary Waters Canoe Area, one of the most beautiful and pristine wilderness areas in the country. The location is sure to live up to its reputation with outstanding fishing, abundant wildlife, crystal clear nights, and breathtaking scenery. Become a part of Camp Unie history and join the Nor'Wester tradition!  It's just girls, roughin' it for ten days. She was so excited! This is Kendall (on the right) and her friend Carly as they got closer to leaving.

I hope she's not getting eaten alive by mosquitos! (I've heard there as big as eagles up there!)

***When the salesman told me that my new Samsung Galaxy 4S Active smartphone had "two layers of 'Gorilla Glass,'" I pictured a gorilla throwing it and it bouncing back. (Just kidding, but you get the idea, especially given the commercials that tout it's water resistance, etc.) He told me that a case wasn't "necessarily needed," and since the only one available was hideously ugly, I decided to wait until I could find another case online. Sadly, I dropped my phone on my driveway yesterday, and it the screen shattered in a bazilliion pieces. The deductible is $200. I feel like an idiot, but I'm sharing this in the hopes that it prevents anyone else from making the same mistake--Make sure you get some type of case for the phone until you can get a decent one.

***If you missed the pics/video review of my new pet bike basket for Milo, you should check it out; it's awesome.

Thanks for stopping by. Visit Unknown Mami and other fragmenters for more bits and pieces from aroung the blogiverse. Have a great weekend!
