Yesterday was the first day of school, and it's already provided blog fodder; I'm thinking of starting a new blog called Sh!t My Students Say.
A student's incredulous facial expression caught my eye. His 11-year-old peer, Jimmy, continued, "Yup! I'm gonna be a dad! I have no idea how it happened, but I'm ready!"
Huh?
He could have a girlfriend who is pregnant, I guess.
He could have a rabbit, cat, or dog who is pregnant, of course.
He could just be full of baloney and confused about how to make conversation.
My money is on either of the last two options. Just in case, I'll be following up tomorrow.
Teaching middle school....always entertaining!
