The Good Kind of Needles

One of Wisconsin's best traits is that she has four distinct seasons; 

and while we're all familiar with the changing colors of leaves, 

you might be surprised to know that pine needles, too, 

can create some beautiful art.

Overnight on Friday, it rained profusely here, 

and one the giant pine trees next to our driveway was scrubbed of her dead needles overnight.

From every angle, the result was a beautiful abstract; I couldn't pick a favorite shot:

Yes, fall leaves are gorgeous,

but needles, too, have their place in the Wisconsin palette.
