Dog Yoga

I sometimes do yoga at home using free YouTube videos from Ali Kamenova (who, incidentally, gives excellent guidance on technique; I really love her videos). It's not easy doing yoga at home, because Steve and Milo (our dogs) like to get in the way at times; it's a little distracting. This morning, though, they were mostly not in my way. At one point, Steve even took the downward-facing dog position at the exact same time that I did, right beside me; it was adorable. (Sorry--no photo of that!)

Everyone's favorite part of yoga is shavasana, which looks like this:

Shávásana

It's the last thing you do; lying flat on your back, eyes closed, arms relaxed at your sides, palms up, just peacefully relaxing, hopefully emptying your mind of tasks, worries, etc.  This morning, I experienced shavasana like never before; as I peacefully rested, I suddenly felt big, sloppy dog kisses on my face and belly button. A moment later, I felt something dropped into my open palm; it was a dog bone.

I can't think of a better way to start the day.
