Friday Fragments: Episode #294

Half-Past Kissin' Time

I'm thinking I should have some type of giveaway/celebration to mark my 300th Friday Fragments episode (yes, that includes the FF episodes Unknown Mami hosted). Maybe I'll tie it in with Fragmenters who link up that day. Keep that in the back of your mind when you have random thoughts, okay? It helps to keep a notebook handy to record the bits and pieces that could later make up a FF post. Oh, and if you have a prize to offer, let me know; I'll happily add it to the prize bag.

***You'd think I'd have posted more this week, given that it's my spring break. However, I spent three days just relaxing in Minneapolis, and the rest of the days have gotten away from me. My plan is to spend Friday writing, so we'll see how that goes.

***One of my favorite parts of visiting Minneapolis last weekend was getting to spend time with Kami and Bill, my son's girlfriend Alayna's mom and step-dad. It was the first time we got to spend a fair amount of time together, and I learned that we have a lot in common. They're also really great people, so I look forward to seeing them again. We also got to hang with Alayna, which is always a pleasure.

***Kendall and I paid a visit to Ed, my 94-year-old distant cousin, who was his adorable, sweet self but has been struggling to heal from carpal tunnel surgery. If you're the praying type, please put in a good word for Ed, will you?

***There's a Whole Foods in Minneapolis, so I shopped there twice. I love their deli salads and came home with one that shocked me when I saw the sticker price. $13 for a pound and a half of salad? Man, it was good, though, so I hunted the recipe down on Pinterest and made it tonight: California Quinoa Salad. (No idea what it has to do with California, but oh well.)

***We got six inches of snow last night. I think my snowy blog header was the cause, so I changed it. GUESS WHAT?! PicMonkey (awesome, free photo-editing site) is offering a free week of its premium features if you share a link and get three people to just try it out (no joining or anything), so that's what I did. It's that simple. Let me know if you need help finding three people; I'll happily share your link!

***I watched 12 Years a Slave last night. Although it made me a little sick to my stomach at times (gut-wrenching), I think it was excellent.

I'd love to hear what you've been up to; link up your Friday Fragments post below, visit a few fragments, and have a great weekend!
