Letters to Middle School Selves

Students were assigned to write letters to their future selves (two years from now, they will be eighth graders). I already know this one (written by a student without special needs) is going to be one of my favorite pieces of student work this year (see transcription for "Nate" below):

It reads:
Dear Older Nate,

By now you should have some awesome video games, maybe. You should be getting A's and B's. Don't join any clicks if you didn't already. I hope your still friends with Gavin, William, and Caleb. It doesn't matter if you have a crush on Marisa or not. You should also rock the tenor saxophone. You should also love Mom still. So you should be most of the things I told you.

From Young Nate.
