Happy New Year!

It's an annual New Year's Eve tradition in our family to run completely around the house in your bare feet at midnight.

(Well, Mr. 4444 and the kids do it, anyway.) That's after we all jam to The Land of 1000 Dances.

The running around the house thing comes from the 4444 family. The song comes from a time when the four of us lived in a tiny duplex and went through a year-long phase when the kids were 2 and 5 years old. We'd put the Forest Gump Soundtrack in and dance like maniacs until we fell on the floor in a sweat. Land of 1000 Dances was just our favorite. Those were good times, uninhibited times; times we hope to repeat for years to come.

Here's hoping your family shares new and old traditions this year and that your New Year is the filled with hope, prosperity, and love....

  1. Hello Mrs4444... I have more than 2 cents to offer. You found my little blog and left a funny comment. I thought I would return the comment. First of all, I LOVE the family tradition of running around the house. We don't do that, but my husband and his sister used to go jump in the nearest pool on Christmas Eve no matter what the temp. Secondly, you Mom sounds like mine, full of wisdom and sweetness. Thirdly, the picture you have of youself (?) in third grade looks SO MUCH like my sister at the same age that I am going to have to call my mom, get her to scan it and send it to me so I can send it to you. It is REALLY goose-bumpish how much the two of you resemble each other. I had to stare at it a few minutes to convince myself it was not her.
Finally, and just a side note, accounting is what I am going back to school to do.
Anyway, there are my 'cents'. Thanks for the comment. I will post more pics of my silly boys this week. We don't have children, so those are our babies.
Happy New Year... may you have many years of running around the house. :)
