Several years ago, I came upon this young girl in a furniture store, and she really moved
me, more than any piece of artwork I have ever seen. It was as if someone had flashed back to my child self, gently preserved her, and placed her right before me. I promptly took the bookends home and dropped one on the floor, breaking it beyond repair, but the other one has been with me ever since. To me, she speaks a thousand words (maybe even more)
....without making a sound.
