Checking In

We're having a blast in California, of course. So far, we've been to the The Haight, "Treasure Island,"
Golden Gate bridge, Muir Woods (hiking), Berkeley campus, and did a LOT of eating
(and that's just a day and half's worth!
Today, Kyle and I are heading for Yosemite for a couple of days.
In the meantime, I'll leave you with a few pics from our trip so far...

Only in California (at the bio-diesel gas station)...
(I'm referring to the out-of-control plants/flowers all over the gas pump.)

View from Marin County something-or-other (sorry--I'm in a rush and can't remember the name!)
Also sorry if the horizon line is crooked--I've had no time to monkey around with edits :)

Cutest couple ever (my niece and her husband)

I'd post more, but a lot of them are vertical, and Blogger is fighting me on rotating those,
so you'll have to stay tuned :)

I also want to give a shout-out to Michelle, of Honest & Truly, who made it possible for me to win a $100 VISA gift card last fall (or thereabouts) on her reviews/giveaways page. THANKS, MICHELLE! We're going to put it to good use this week! :)

Gotta run!

Til next time....

  2. you truly are a blogger - blogging from your trip.
Unless you are really familiar with the various spots on the coast they do tend to look similar. I'm just guessing for fun that the coastal picture was taken near the far side of the Golden Gate bridge.

  3. You know, I don't think anyone will notice the lack of editing. ;) The horizon is crooked because of the wine. It looks like you are having an amazing time!!

The pic of the ocean is amazing, though.

And like the comment above me said - you are a true blogger!!

  5. So far so good. This is so exciting and inspirational. I have yet to take a long trip and blog about it (other than living in Alaska for a few months last year.) Your post is making me want to take a vacation so I can share my trip. There's something about knowing your going to share something that helps you to look a little deeper and enjoy a little more.

  7. Sounds like fun. You're actually visiting my neck of the woods. Northern CA is beautiful isn't it? I'm super jealous of your Yosemite visit. I still have yet to go there. One of these days...

  8. With all the snow pack this year, Yosemite's water falls are spectacular. Stop by the Ahwanee; it's spectacular in its own way. They don't build them like that anymore.

  10. Thanks, Everybody. We are having a ball. No sign of Unknown Mami, though we do have a date on Sunday. We hiked Chilnualna Falls today--It was spectacular (and difficult, so very worth it). The sea shot was taken in Marin, atop an old military bunker--a very fascinating place! I'll be writing a post about that one :)

Forgive me for not answering each of your comments individually. Though I have read them all; I'm sure you understand. Off to bed not--more vacationing to do, you know! :)
