Sundays in My City: Celebrate Fairview

Unknown Mami

In a tiny rural town in Wisconsin today,
a community came together for food, fun, music, and socializing.
(Oh, and to raise money to put more technology in the hands of elementary school students.)

I helped out for a while in the kids' area. It was (mostly) fun!

A couple of my Difference Makers kids volunteered, too.

As you may have noticed, it was a little chilly today (high of 49 degrees)

but our hearts were warm

(The fabulous chicken booyah helped me warm up. Boy, it was delicious!)

Here's just a handful of the incredible parents and teachers
without whose dedication the event would not have happened.

They don't look like they're having any fun, do they?
(And no, they were not consuming alcoholic beverages; that's pure volunteering fun, right there!)

The event was huge success (They raised more than $10,000 after expenses!)

As you can see, the kids are thrilled!
