Friday Fragments: Episode #211

Mommy's Idea

If this week's fragments were menu items, I think you'd find most of them on the Entree section, and they're filling, but not so much that you can't order dessert. Pull a chair up to my fragmented table and see if you can't find something to nibble on. [For more information on what Friday Fragments is all about, click on the tab above.]

***Have you entered my Tupperware Giveaway?! You really should (if you haven't already), because everyone loves Tupperware, and the prize is worth $35!

***For a good Milo fix, check out yesterday's Puppy Play Date pics :)

***I met a beautiful, courageous mom this week via Google+. Her blog is called One Mental Mumma: Life as a Mother with Depression and Anxiety, and I would really appreciate it if you would pay her a visit, as she could use a lift. I know the power of the blogging community, and I think that power could make a difference in her life today. Please consider stopping by and saying hi.

***I also want to recommend an incredibly beautiful post that might touch on a sensitive subject for some of you, so if your parent-heart is especially tender today, you might want to bookmark it for another time, but A Walk in My Shoes, by Autism Wonderland is definitely worth the read.

***25 Things to Do with a Wiggly Toddler Boy (other than get frustrated) is an awesome article! (Many of the ideas would work for girls, too, of course.)

***This Kickstarter project has already been funded, and I can't wait to buy one: Bug Alien.  It lets you capture stuff, view it under magnification (or fry it in the sun, I suppose) and then set it free (unless you fried it, of course. Please don't fry anything in the sun.) I think the Bug Alien is one of the coolest new toys I've seen.

***I learned the coolest Blogger blog tip this week; how to get rid of the annoying shadows/borders of every photo on your blog, not just for one particular post. You can find the basic directions here.

***On Post Secret this week (catching up for four missed weeks!) I found this awesome idea:

My office has found a solution to the awkward moment when passing other workers in the hall: silent dance party. It started with just the younger workers, but now folks of all ages boogie down in the hallway when passing each other!

Wouldn't that be fun?!

***And finally, I want to highly recommend Google Voice, as I've been using it for about a year and remembered this week that GV lets you personalize voicemail messages for particular contacts. I only have 4-5 people who leave voicemails for me these days, but I'm having so much fun with my messages to them that I will probably write a post about it.  Consider the possibilities--They're endless!  [I still keep my normal cell number; I've just switched from my cell provider's voicemail service to Google Voice's.]

What are you serving up?

  11. I love the pictures of Milo's play date. My mantra, when my dogs were puppies, was "a tired puppy is a good puppy". ;-)

    1. One tip: Make sure you're happy with the number you choose. The first one is free. Changes are $10. Still a pretty good deal, though...

  15. You really find the coolest websites Mrs.4444s. Those wiggly boy suggestions are really good. I have tons of wiggly kids in my fam. the newest one is the 1 year old, she's all over the place and currently in the kitchen pulling everything out of the cabinets (I'm babysitting and letting her.)

    1. haha I set GV up because I wanted parents to be able to reach my cell phone but not have my cellphone number. My GV number rings on my cell and in my classroom, and I can turn either off any time. It also lets me screen calls, which I never do but appreciate the option; you never know when I might need it!

      Thanks for entering, Pam! :)
