Friday Fragments: Episode #220

Mommy's Idea

At 220 Friday Fragment episodes, that's likely more than a thousand bits!
Thanks for helping to inspire years of fragmented thoughts :)

***As I type this, it's "Fall Break," and Kendall, Maren and I are in a hotel room in a suburb of Chicago, watching p0rn worn out from a long day as tourists. I apologize if you stopped by to link up and found no one here to answer the door! :(

***I wrote that bit about p0rn because Kendall just "found a movie" and then went to the bathroom, leaving Maren and me to watch the selection which turned out to be for adults-only. It's a good thing we are all almost adults; that was pretty funny, actually.

***We had a great time today. Our highlights included: Trip to the Skydeck, Shedd Aquarium, Lou Malnati's pizza for dinner (and a visit from Weaselmomma), followed by night shopping on the "Magnificent Mile" and dessert at Ed Debevic's. Maren considers herself a city girl, so she was on Cloud Nine. Tomorrow, we'll do some more shopping before heading home.

***I recently discovered Bad Lip-Reading's YouTube page and laughed my way through several videos. The Hunger Games video especially cracked me up.

Okay, that's it for me; I've got to rest up for our shopping day tomorrow! Feel free to link up your own fragments below:

  2. thanks for hosting - Looks like you hit some good highlights of Chi town. You did see the "bean" (Cloud Gate) right? Were you insulted well enough at Ed Debevic's? And you got to see the latest addition to the Shedd? baby bulga? I've only see pics in the paper.

  3. I'm jealous, I love to visit Chicago! It is such a beautiful city! Way too cold most of the year for me to actually LIVE there (although my husband did for a few years before we were married). Funny story about Kendall's movie choice, I'm sure that was a surprise for all involved!

  4. We lived in Chicago almost 4 years and Ed Debevic's is one of our favorite diners. Though our favorite Chicago pizza is Giordano's. I would have it shipped to me if it wasn't so expensive!

I'm glad you guys are having an interesting time? The '?' is for your movie selection. I bet that was a shock ;-) The Michigan Mile is most fantastic during the Christmas season. They actually have a flow of traffic with little rent a cops to go through places like Bed Bath and Beyond during the season!!

  5. Sounds like a wonderful break. I am not much of a shopper these days. It is pretty bad when you walk into a shop and say I don't need anything.

I went to Chicago once. It was a great time. I loved the Magnificent Mile! Enjoy!

  10. Lou Malnoti's is a favorite of Good Guys, but mostly it makes me think of indigestion. But I love Ed Debevic's. I love the food and the attitude. I'd pass on the shopping and visit museums. (Sorry, merchants.)

  14. Either Linky is having issues today or my computer is. The button to upload a picture from a file never did work ... but all's well that ends well ... I just chose a picture from the WWW. ;-)

We're only about 4 hours from Chicago, but we haven't been up there in years! I don't know why we don't get there more often. Maybe next summer!
