Can you believe it's already almost Thanksgiving?! One of the things I'm thankful for is fragmenting--It clears my head and makes me happy. Welcome!
***WARNING: Do NOT click on the link in this fragment unless you don't mind being grossed out or potentially uncomfortable or you don't want to swear off bully sticks for the rest of your dog's life. I learned something disgusting last weekend. I was reading the package of bully sticks that I'd bought for the dogs when I asked Mr.4444 what their only ingredient is: "beef pizzles". I wasn't grossed out enough to take them back to the store or anything, but EW!
***Steve had a mild seizure a couple of days ago. That was creepy, unsettling. Otherwise, the dogs are doing great, and Milo is still Top Dog.
***"I call the dibs!" exclaimed my student, Artie, in regard to something I don't even remember, because he followed that up with, "And remember, who ever breaks the dibs has to be seen naked in public!" (Needless to say, I did not break the dibs!) Teaching middle school is never boring.
***Kendall auditioned for the musical, Thoroughly Modern Millie, at her school, got a call-back, and read for the part of Dorothy last night. Personally, I think she'd be perfect in the role! I'm sooooo excited to find out if she got the part. We'll know tomorrow afternoon, so stay tuned....UPDATE: SHE GOT THE PART!!!! I'M SO EXCITED!!!
***Speaking of Kendall, the car she saved for months to buy and has only had about six months has been pronounced terminal; it's only a matter of time before the engine gives out. I feel really bad about it; we didn't take it to a mechanic before buying it (though we did check the Car-Fax report). Lesson learned, but it stings.
***On Saturday night, Kendall will be serving her first Thanksgiving turkey, to ten of her friends, who are bringing dishes to pass. Doesn't that sound like fun?! I have no clue how to cook a turkey, and Mr.4444 won't be here to help; should be interesting...

***Kyle came home tonight, long enough to say hi, give me a hug, drop laundry off (ask sweetly if I would take care of it, which I'm happy to do), and head up to the hunting camp with his dad. I'm very happy for them both--They're such hard workers and deserve the down time. Here's to a safe, successful hunt. UPDATE: So far, so good! Kyle got a buck! (4-pointer)
Alrighty then! The linky awaits. Please, if this is your first time linking up, check out the Friday Fragements tab above. Thanks. Have a great weekend!
I knew about the dog treats. I have been laughing for days. Sorry to hear that your daughter's car is terminal. No bueno. I am glad the men in the family are off a-hunting. Enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDelete:)
ReplyDeleteI was just saying that I wished you put your linky up earlier so I could go nighty-night.
Now dogs don't have to settle for just licking pizzles, now they can chew them too.
ReplyDelete;-)
Hope that turkey comes out yummy !:)
ReplyDeletepizzle - a new word for me. a new twist for being thrown to the wolves?
ReplyDeleteHappy hunting - do you cook game? or game to cook
Hello Mrs4444, I hope to return later to re-connect! :)
ReplyDeleteWow, so glad we don't have THAT kind of dog treats! Kendall's thanksgiving sounds like fun and what great experience for her! I didn't cook my first turkey until I was in my 30s! The turkey will either turn out great or be a great story to tell, so either way a win!
ReplyDeleteI'm not looking, I'm not looking, I'm not looking...
ReplyDeleteCooking her own turkey? That's impressive. I have done it successfully, but not since I moved down south. I always descend on friends!
Hope Steve is all right. I'm betting Kendell will get the part. I really liked teaching the middle school age in Sunday School--they were so energetic and you're right, never boring.
ReplyDeleteNever heard of bully sticks before now...ewwww!
ReplyDeleteHope Kendall gets the part and your son & husband have a great time hunting.
Fingers crossed for Kendall on the part!!!
ReplyDeleteSad about the car... that happened with me too on my first car. Welcome to adult things :( I know you hate to see your kids learn those lessons though.
My first Friday Fragments. Fun !!!! Will check out other links too. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday! I'm a friend of Single Mom in the South and so I decided to come on by and check out your Friday Fragments. :> Hope you have a great weekend! (And I did not click the link, I'm drinking my coffee and not up for ewwww mode yet!)
ReplyDeleteYou don't know how to cook a turkey? Hopefully it is thawed out otherwise it won't cook. :)
ReplyDeleteYour family is awesome. Congrats to Kendall!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to your daughter!
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Kendall! I hope the boys have a successful hunt if not I'm sure they will have a great time! Good luck with Turkey....I'm sure there is a youtube video that might help! Have a wonderful weekend !
ReplyDeleteYay for Kendall and Kyle!! Have a great weekend :)
ReplyDeleteI had no idea that "dibs" had a nudity clause!
ReplyDeleteIs Steve okay? Congrats to Kendall and Kyle, although I must admit I do not understand hunting. I remember my first turkey, interesting is a good description. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteSorry about Kendall's car. sounds like both of your kids are doing great! Cooking a turkey is easy...just leave in the bag of giblets. I did that my first time (I checked the cavity of the turkey and didn't find it so I didn't think it was in there) and the turkey actually came out great...very moist!
ReplyDeleteI knew that about bully sticks, although I do my best to put that out of my mind. ewwwwww!
ReplyDeleteSure hope Steve is ok.
